Switch Expert™ Overview

Switch Expert ™ (SE) currently deployed at 80% percent of the INSIGHT-100 community is a PBX network management tool used by on-site personnel to perform their duties in a timely manner. SE follows the Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security (FCAPS) modeland provides on-site personnel with a time savings tool that provides point and click accessto compiled PBX system data. 

Fault Module: This module processes all system events and alarms produced by theswitching system. This module also incorporates a notification process that notifiestechnicians of system problems. 

Configuration Module: This module allows privileged users with command line access with integrated VB scripting through Switch Expert via an AES 128 encrypted connection.  

Accounting Module: This module provides ad-hoc Call Detail Recording (CDR) queriesand features call costing via assignable billing cost codes.  

Performance Module: This module processes raw switch data 24x7 in half-hourincrements and is used to produce meaningful switch performance reports to include shortand long ACD, Attendant Consoles, Trunk utilization and Quality of Server reports. Security Module: This module provides toll fraud detection and allows security personnelto perform security audits on system users. For CS2100 users, SE records every commandIssued to the system by service order or maintenance personnel.
