“Develop a passion for learning. You will never cease to grow ”

WOW" is one of AJ’s finest traditions. The Week of Welcome

(WOW) is a week of events welcoming new students and return-

ing students to the school. Week of Welcome celebrates the start of a new aca-

demic year through an annual tradition by welcoming new and returning stu-

dents to inspire a sense of pride. The week's festivities included series of excit-

ing activities in order to become a part of the school community, making

friends, & sharing experiences. During Week of Welcome (WOW) we gear up

for the new school year

AJI Primary celebrated month of April as ‘Reading Month’ Reading is in-tegral to the educational development of our students. Finding ways to provide students with an opportunity to engage in a regular reading pro-gram is of great importance at Alain Juniors. The objective of this initia-tive is to continue to encourage and promote a positive reading culture in the school. Promote enjoyment in recreational reading, foster independent reading skills as well as concentration and track students reading achievement throughout the year .

Various reading activities were conducted throughout the month. On 9th April , D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) was conducted during the homeroom period. It’s a great way to get both staff and students reading! A DEAR session consisted of getting the whole school to stop, drop what they were doing and to read, for pleasure, for 20 minutes.

BOOK CHARACTER PARADE A character parade was organized for Grades 1-6 on 30th April 2019. What a fantastic morning! All the students looked amaz-ing during the parade They dressed up creative-ly as their favourite book character, some favorites being Snow White, Cin-derella, Genie, Jasmine, Alice in Wonderland etc

ACTIVITIES & COMPETITIONS OF THE MONTH

School time is not simply a time to “buckle down” and “do work”

but an extension of full lives that children are already living. Well-

designed, hands on activities in the classroom foster connections to

real world situations and increase learner engagement. When stu-

dents make connections between the concepts in the classroom

and the concepts in the real world , more parts of their brains are

activated, and the knowledge gained more easily transfers to long

term memory. This style of teaching and learning also fosters the

growth of critical thinking and problem solving skills.

At Alain Juniors, we always try to make teaching and learning fun

with lots of classroom activities.

The morning sets the day and the assembly paves the way for our students to rejuvenate their spirits, remain rooted to the moral values and unleash their vitality. The well planned assembly conducted class wise clarifies school activities, programes and focus on important days. Every child is given the opportunity and the plat-form to display their talent and present themselves as individuals. Guided by their teachers the assembly in-cludes short skit, presentations, speech, action songs, in-dividual experiences etc.

Reading with your child at home Evidence shows that children who read out loud daily at home for 15 minutes make huge improvements in their reading ability. Reading is al-ready a major part of daily activities in school but children who receive extra individual attention at home do make much more progress. With your help your child can make significant progress and we appreciate your support as we work together to give your child the best of opportuni-ties.
