• The English Language Arts/Reading and Science assessments include all multiple-choice items.
• The Mathematics assessments include multiple-choice and gridded-response items.– Mathematics gridded-response items are found at
grades 5 – 8– Gridded response items are on the first part/the
calculator inactive part of the test.
Before Test Day pp. 6-19 (EOG); pp. 6-18 (EXTEND2)
• Prepare for and attend training.– Read Assessment Guide (formerly known as Test Administrator
Manual) thoroughly.• Read and study the Testing Code of Ethics (purple sheet).• Complete and submit REQUIRED Testing Plan (yellow sheet).• Read and follow test security procedures.
– Copying secure materials (including gridded response charts for MIB)– Accounting for and storing materials
• Only TC and backup TC may have access to secure materials.• Materials must be returned and accounted for daily.
• Train proctors – Proctors may not– be alone with test materials;– pick up or return materials;– be relatives; and– paper clip mathematics calculator inactive section.
Before Test Day pp. 6-19 (EOG); pp. 6-18 (EXTEND2)
• Prepare the testing environment. – Cover/remove instructional materials– Post “Testing Do Not Disturb” sign.– Seating arrangement has adequate spacing.
• Prepare students for testing.– Inform parents.– Test taking strategies– Gridded response practice www.ncpublicschools.org/accountability/testing– Released items

• Student emergencies and restroom breaks
• LEP students /Students with Disabilities and testing accommodations– The accommodations must be routinely used– Test administrators conducting test administration must be trained
on specific testing accommodation. – TC/Assessor collaborate with EC Chair/504 Chair to complete
Review of Accommodations form (blue form)
• Students with Transitory Impairments and Section 504 (EOG only)– Contact Karen Greene.– Documentation must be maintained at school and in Testing Department.– Document in NCWISE.
• Recognize testing violations and irregularities. pp. 17-19 (EOG); pp. 16-17
Irregularities
• School TC and Principal must have current NCID– When a misadministration is declared for the general EOG, the affected
student(s) must be re-administered another secure form of the assessment.
– When a misadministration is declared for the NCEXTEND2, the affected students must be re-administered the secure form of the assessment no earlier than five consecutive calendar days following the conclusion of the prior administration.
On Test Day pp. 20-24 (EOG); 19-23 (EXTEND2)
• Verify materials
• Follow a uniform process of administration.– Post “Testing Do Not Disturb” sign.– Ensure testing area is clear of clutter
• All test administrators MUST review procedures on pp. 22-23 (EOG); 21-22 (EXTEND2) on THE TEST DAY.
