Reading Comprehension - TWO SUPERHEROES My name is Superman and I am an alien superhero. I was born on the planet Krypton and currently live on Earth. My secret identity is Clark Kent, a sh\ reporter who lives in the cit\ of Metropolis and works for ³The Dail\ Planet´, the cit\¶s newspaper. His human friends are his colleagues Lois Lane, who is a journalist too, and Jimmy Olsen, a photographer. I have a number of superpowers: I can fly at great speeds, I can see through walls, I¶m invulnerable to human weapons and I¶m extraordinarily fast and strong. M\ weakness is that I¶m vulnerable to green kryptonite, a mineral from my home planet. My mission is fighting crime and protecting people therefore my enemies are criminals like Lex Luthor, a scientist. I don¶t have a vehicle as I can fly, and I have no special weapons. I wear a blue and red costume with a red cloak and red boots. I don¶t wear a mask but my alter-ego Clark Kent wears glasses. Nobody can see that we are the same person and I find that very strange! It will stay that way as long as I am able to find convenient and hidden locations to change my persona when my super powers are needed. My s\mbol is a red ³S´. Batman is a human superhero. He is completely human. Batman¶s mission is fighting crime and he wears a grey costume, a black mask, a black cloak and black boots. His personal symbol is a black bat. He lives in the USA, in Gotham City. His real identity is Bruce Wayne, a charming billionaire who doesn¶t need to work ever\ da\. He has a brilliant mind and can invent and use a variety of weapons and tools for fighting crime. Batman can¶t fl\ or see through walls, but he has excellent acrobatic skills and is very strong and exceedingly intelligent. His vehicle, a very fast and sophisticated car, is known as the Bat-mobile. His enemies include: Joker, Double Face, The Riddler, Catwoman, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy. His friends are Alfred, his aged butler, and young Robin, an ex-circus performer who supports him in his missions.
