Reading 1 Read the email and answer the questions. Write Y (Yes), N (No) or NG (Not Given) next to each sentence. Hi Tessie, Thanks for your message. I understand the problem you have got with your parents, and it can't be easy for you if they won't let you go out at the weekends at all. I'm sure they are doing this because they care about you, but I imagine you feel they are doing it because they want to punish you or make you unhappy! If I were you, I would talk to them about the problem. Have you told them how you feel about not being allowed out? The best place to start might be by asking them why they are being like this. If they explained their reasons to you, you would be able to discuss everything more easily. And, what about your school friends? They must go out at weekends. Do you think any of your friends' parents could talk to your mum and dad? It might help your mum and dad to hear how other parents feel about their teenagers going out. Anyway, Tessie, that's what I would do if I were in your situation. But of course, everyone's different, so you have got to do what you think is best. The other thing I wanted to say is this – have you planned your holiday yet? Because if you haven't, maybe you would like to come with my parents and me (your mum and dad would agree to that if my parents spoke to them about it, I'm sure). We have booked an apartment in Spain and Mum says I can take a friend!! It's ages since we saw each other, so it would be great if you could come. Let me know as soon you can … and good luck with the other problem!! Write soon! Love,
