OPAP 92 - Highlights

The main objective of our 1992 OPAP submission was to

explore for base and precious metals:

1) along the Archean/Huronian contact which strikes NW-SE

through the southern portion of Parkin township

2) along the Parkin offset quartz diorite dyke which

extends north-south through the eastern portion of

Parkin township and,

3) a secondary focus was to prospect for and assess for

building stone potential.

1) With respect to item (1) above our program was very

successful. The enclosed trenching location (Maps 3, 5 and 4)

outline the Wof k areas. On Map 4 work area, trenches 2A and 2B returned values of .864 oz Au and .313 oz Au respectively. This discovery extends a previous area of gold mineralization from 150 metres to over 300 metres in length. In addition, our work confirmed the presence of an alteration zone of chloritic and carbonatized rock adjacent and on strike to the gold showings. This will serve as an excellent marker zone for further exploration. On Map 3 and 5 work areas, trenches 3A and 3D returned values to .077* Cu, 4.36X Zn and 1476 ppb Au. The surprise here was the discovery of a massive graphite seam within the brecciated sulphide area. The graphite is exposed along a length of 20 metres and is 1.5 to 2 metres wide. The unmineralized graphite returned a value of 1476 ppb Au and subsequent values to .056 oz Au. 1 Chalcopyrite, sphalerite and massive pyrrhotite envelope the graphite zone over an exposed area of 75 metres x 6 metres.

2) Our program along the Parkin offset dyke (Maps 1 and 2) was less extensive than planned due to our early successes described in (1) above and the focusing of our efforts in those areas. No significant values were obtained in the areas of the dyke that we exposed.

3) The secondary focus for building stone in Parkin township was aborted early in the program for two reasons:

1) as stated above early positive results along the volcanic/sedimentary contact dictated further concentration in these areas (1 above) and,

Personal Communication; M Cosec, Resident Geologist's Office, Sudbury.

Page 3: Re: OP692-101 and OP692-102 OPAP 92 - Highlights

page 3

2) the discovery (by the partners) of a large deposit of fine grained black granite east of Sudbury warranted a diversion of resources to that area. (This will be reported on separately under OMIP).

In summary, the results for the work areas outlined on Maps 3, 5 and 4 were very positive and two separate option arrangements are being negotiated at the time of writing. OPAP will be informed of the final outcome. A total of 50 additional claim units were staked by the partners during the 1992 field season. Ten of these units were in Parkin township.

Two separate option agreements were concluded as reported in Section VII of the submission form. These agreements were the direct result of both OPAP and OMIP funding during the 1991 season. Neither these agreements, nor the three discoveries outlined above would have been possible without the assistance of the Incentives Branch whose continued assistance is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

John Brady
