preface: why re-church?

the missionThe thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. --Jesus Christ John 10:10
...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. --Paul Eph 4:13
• This is the heart of God. Kingdom Come is a rich, satisfying, abundant life
• The pinnacle of Kingdom come is all God’s children unified in belief in the Son, mature to the fullness of Christ.
• This is the most wonderful thing to imagine.

how kingdom comesGod blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. --God Gen 1:28
“Therefore, go and make disciples... teach them... And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
• Reproduction is the number 1 strategy of defeating the enemy. (abortion, infertility)
• Blessed command in both cases (severe intentionality + dependency on God)
• YOU are here because of reproduction (physically and spiritually)
• It’s EASIER to not reproduce (requires aggressive overcoming)

a warning for all of usNow this is what the LORD Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it... because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.”
So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel... governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua... the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. -- Haggai 1:8-9, 14
• We are in the epicenter of the Lord’s blessing right now. (worldwide recognition)
• This is about the Father’s heart and becoming fathers like him. (generational rejection births visionless apathy)
• He doesn’t just leave us to our own devices... he will stir up our spirits if we ask him.

in the land of the blind...“Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher...” -- Jesus Luke 6:39-40

chapter 2:the only biblical church model
re-church 2011
our manifesto...they were all together in one place.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. -- Acts 2:1, 42-44

chapter 3:a disciple-making rhythm
re-church 2011
A sustained and consistent weekly disciple-making, Acts 2:42 rhythm will, over time, fully equip families with the DNA of the church and repeatably reproduce into multi-generational kingdom growth movements.

the partnership experiment
• Go 2 by 2 (no more, no less)
• The advantages of partnering
• Clear time commitment (9 months)
• When to separate (embrace the breakup)
• The disadvantages of the orphan cluster
• Engaging support team
• Sending out the next generation
• Re-forming the megatron
• What would hinder you from forming a mutual partnership?
• What have you learned about partnerships this year?
re-church 2011
the paratrooper test• This is how we know when
you’re equipped
• If we were to drop any two of you in the middle of... say Wichita and come back in five years would we find a reproducing movement?
• Do the math:
• If you had a normal reproductive rate of 0 for year 1, twins in year 2, 1 in year 3, 2 in year 4 and 1 there would be over 20 new teams in 5 years.
• Make a commitment to only engage in ministry that is reproducible
• What would stop you from making this commitment this year?
