Who is Tested?
•Administered, annually, to all English language learners in Georgia, in grades K-12
•All ELL students must be assessed
•ELL-M students must not be assessed

ACCESS for ELLs• ACCESS for ELLs meets the NCLB
mandate for assessing ELL students in their progress in learning both social and academic English
• ACCESS for ELLs and the English language proficiency standards upon which it is based were developed by a consortium of states referred to as WIDA, with technical assistance by the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL)

ACCESS for ELLsIs a Secure Test: Maintain security prior to, during , and after testing. All
test materials are to be kept secure and confidential. Teachers and other school personnel are responsible for ensuring that no materials are duplicated and/or shared prior to or after testing!
System Test Coordinators will oversee key elements:Training Packing/UnpackingOrdering Materials AdministrationSecurity Assurances Returning MaterialsCompleting Pre-ID Labels
Collaboration with ESOL/ Title III Coordinators will ensure the process is more manageable

Student Demographic Information
• Special Coding Instructions will be on goldenrod paper placed inside front cover of every School Test Administration manual.
• Teachers must verify pre-ID information prior to applying pre-ID labels. If label is incorrect, discard label.
• State Required Codes (SRC) must be manually-coded for students even if a pre-ID label is available.

• Columns 1 and 2: For students with disabilities, code the student’s primary classification using SRC 1 – 12 or 14-15. Code only one classification. For SRC 1-9 code a zero before the number.
• Columns 3 and 4: Code SRC 16 for students receiving Title I Reading services in a targeted-assistance school; schools providing services on a school-wide basis do not need to code.
