DILG Region 02
“The future is not some place that we are going to, but one we
are creating.
The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of
making them changes both the maker and the destination.”
- John Schaar

The CBMS implementation experience in MIMAROPA Implementation Milestones and Benefits
The last province to enroll in said project was Occidental Mindoro
The province has now a view of the situation of almost every household in the communities, including the vulnerable Mangyan community, making LGU responses properly coursed, significantly saves time, efforts and resources.
This advantage is magnified especially when relief operations and social missions in remote communities are done.
Region 02 Situationer in 2010
Only a few LGUs adopted CBMS
One LGU data repository is still a dream;
Need to have an aggregated data that reflect the actual situation in the community;
Region 02 Situationer in 2010
Secondary data from national surveys are presently used by the LGUs and various agencies regionwide;
A pressing concern in adopting the project is its financial requirement with most LGUs working barely enough for basic services, a 7 digit project was not considered a high priority;

With this landscape, Region 02 is moving towards an increased adoption of the CBMS and the eventual realization of the dream to roll-out CBMS implementation in all the LGUs region-wide and reap the following benefits;
Current Regional Landscape- Development thrusts and policies will
be based on the actual needs of the communities;
- Development efforts will then be more responsive;
- Communities will better appreciate the “participatory” approach in development; and
- The region to have a repository of data that belongs to the people and basis for sound policy and decision-making and judicious fund utilization
