Self Guided Tour Mt Victory Rd: Boroka and Reed Lookouts and MacKenzie Falls
To visit Boroka Lookout, Reed Lookout and MacKenzie Falls (the largest waterfalls in the
Grampians) drive 500 metres north of the Visitor Information Centre, until you reach the police
station, then turn left onto Mt Victory Rd.
Continue for around 12 minutes, and turn right on Mt Difficult Rd. toward Boroka Lookout. This
lookout point, very close to the parking area, offers a panoramic view over the Fyans Valley and
Halls Gap, and another outlook across the countryside to the east.
Return to Mt Victory Rd and continue west by car for 10 minutes until you reach the sign to Reed
Lookout.
It takes only 8 minutes to walk to this viewing point and return to your car, but you can also enjoy
an easy walk to The Balconies rock feature. The walk there and back will take about 40 minutes,
and is also a popular point from which to view the sunset.
Return to Mt Victory Rd and continue driving for 10 minutes. At the sign indicating MacKenzie
Falls, turn right. At the parking area, you can allow 10 minutes to walk easily along a flat path to
the Broken Falls lookout point and back to the car, or choose an easy 40 minute return walk
which gives the entire view of the MacKenzie Falls.
If you choose to descend the 270 steps to the base of the falls, you will need to allow around 1
hour 20 minutes return time.
Return to Halls Gap along Mt Victory Rd. (around 30 minutes). Enjoy your day out!
