Holy Spirit implements campaign to protect 6,000 pupils, teacher
and staff of elementary school from dreaded dengue disease
Regular weekly meetings of RC Holy Spirit are held on Wednesday at 7-9 PM at the Don Antonio Clubhouse
The month of August 2013 has been desig-
nated by Dona Juana Elementary School
(DJES) as clean-up month as part of its Den-
gue Alert program. To lend support to the
schools drive, RC Holy Spirit conducted an
anti-dengue spraying of the buildings and
premises of the school with an organic insec-ticide on Sunday, August 25, 2013. The in-
secticide, donated by PP Chin Chin Jurado,
uses biodegradable extract from the leaves of
the Neem tree and other natural plant deriva-
tives and is effective as disinfectant, deodor-
izer and repellent.
The project was also made possible with the
help of Kagawad Lydia Ballesteros, Bgy Holy
Spirit Chair for Health and Sanitation, who
came with two personnel equipped with in-
dustrial-size sprayers.
The RCHS team was composed of Pres Dr
Bong, IPP Marcia Salvador, PP Linda Palattao,
PP Beth Sy, PP Chin Chin Jurado, Secretary JR
Delgra, Adm Chair Ric Salvador and Rtn Jerry
Sy, who worked using smaller sprayers. Pro-
ject In-charge PP Chin Chin, who toll-
manufactures the insecticide, came with
three assistants who prepared the solution
prior to spraying. RCHS has commited to con-
duct the anti-dengue spraying in the school
monthly until October 2013.

Dengue hotspots around the Don Antonio area have not been spared from spraying . . .
fter having completed its mission at DJES last August 25, the
eam proceeded to Don Antonio Heights to conduct anti-dengue
praying in three (3) identified hotspots in the vicinity of subdivi-
sion where there had been reported cases of dengue
chikungunya (another type of mosquito-borne viral disease).
Holy Spirit participates in the Districts functional collaboration pilot project
At the launching of the functional collaboration project last Au-
gust 17, 2013 during the Club Administration Training Seminar,
twelve (12) foster clubs were paired with twelve (12) emerging
clubs.
This innovative approach called functional collaboration be-
tween clubs has been envisioned to better achieve membership
and club administration goals in the District this RY 2013-14. It is
a brainchild of LG Chito Borromeo that will be jointly implemented
by the District Membership Development and Club Administration
Committees.
There are two (2) parties in this collaboration effort: a foster club
and an emerging club. The two clubs will work together to meet
membership and club administration goals. They may from time
to time hold joint membership meetings, fellowship activities,
earning events or service projects. They may also share best
practices for their mutual benefit. It is hoped that this initiative
will help strengthen more clubs in District 3780.
Partnering in this pilot program are RC Holy Spirit as foster
and RC Kagitingang Cubao as emerging club.

The Object of RotaryFirst formulated in 1910, the Object of Rotary is to encourage and
foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in par-
ticular, to encourage and foster:
. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for
service;
. High ethical standards in business and professions,
the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and
the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity
to serve society;
. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's
personal, business, and community life;
. The advancement of international understanding,
goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and
professional persons united in the ideal of service.
5 Avenues of ServiceBased on Object of Rotary, the
Five Avenues of Service

The Four-Way TestOf the things we think, say or do
Is it the TRUTH?Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTERFRIENDSHIPS?Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned
ROTARIANS PLEDGEI am a Rotarian
I will always uphold the TRUTH.
I am a Rotarian
I will always strive to be FAIR
in all of my dealings with my fellowmen.
I am a Rotarian
I will always endeavor to build
GOODWILL and UNDERSTANDING
in my community,
among my countrymen
and people of all nations.
I am a Rotarian
I will always seek to promote
the greatest good
for the greatest number of people
in the spirit of ROTARY SERVICE.
I am a Rotarian
I will always uphold
the Rotary International Motto,
SERVICE ABOVE SELF.
Principles that Guide Rotary
As a Rotarian, I will1. Exemplify the core value of integrity in all behaviors and activities
2. Use my vocational experience and talents to serve in Rotary
3. Conduct all of my personal, business, and professional affairs ethically, encouraging and fostering high ethical standards as an ex
ple to others
4. Be fair in all dealings with others and treat them with the respect due to them as fellow human beings
5. Promote recognition and respect for all occupations which are useful to society
6. Offer my vocational talents: to provide opportunities for young people, to work for the relief of the special needs of others, and to i
prove the quality of life in my community
