Similes
A simile is a sentence that provides the words like or as.
In one of Rihanna’s songs called Diamonds she has a simile.
It is ‘‘ Shine bright like a diamond’’
Onomatopoeia
An onomatopoeia is a sentence that provides words like: BOOM, BANG, and KAPWOO!
In Boom Boom by Justice Crew they have a onomatopoeia.
It is ‘‘ BOOM,BOOM!”!
Metaphor
A metaphor is a sentence that does not provide the words like or as.
In Wings by Little Mix they have a metaphor.
It is ‘‘ We can’t touch the ground!’’
Idiom
An idiom is something you say but you don’t really mean.
In Put your hearts up , by Ariana Grande there is an idiom.
It is ‘‘Put your hearts up’’.
She doesn’t really mean Put your hearts up.
What she means is: To care about people.
Personification
Personification is using a non-living things and giving it human characteristics.
In Fireflies by Owl City they have personification .

Repetition
Repetition is when you repeat a word or a line.
In Tell me something I don’t know by Selena Gomez she has repetition.
It is Tell me,Tell me,Tell me!
Alliteration
Alliteration is when you repeat the first letter in a word and use it in another word.
In Moves Like Jagger there is alliteration.
It is “ Take me by the tongue.”
Hyperbole
Hyperbole is when you exaggerate a statement.
In Today was a fairytale by Taylor Swift there is a hyperbole.
It is “ Today was a fairytale.”
Imagery
Imagery is when the author says something and you quickly get an image in your head.
In Firework by Katy Perry she has imagery.
It is “ Firework.”
Rhyme
A rhyme is a group of words that have the same sound at the end.
In In this Life by Delta Goodrem there is a rhyme.
It is I was curious and young and trying to find it on the run.
