Gandhi's Talisman
I will give you a Talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the
weakest man (woman) whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him (her).
Will he (she) gain anything by it? Will it restore him (her) to a control over his (her) own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj (freedom) for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away .

Food insecurity in the lean period, unavailability of work at villages , unskilled labor are

An innovative initiative of Raksha Bandhan to bind ribbon on the trees understanding that this is a knot between the sister and the brother and the brother will never destroy the relationship in lifetime as is in Raksha Bandhan. The idea is to bind the community towards spirituality to save the trees. There were several activities under the umbrella of saving the forest. Community mobilization was major activity which was also been done in mission mode and in different fashion so that the people may really understand the need of protecting the forest. The villagers, volunteers and other stake holders like forest committee were given exhaustive training on the issue and created a big team to protect the forest. WHAT IS BAL SANSAD
Children’s parliament (Bal Sansad), it is just a replica, portrayal of our Republic Of India PARLIAMENT(SANSAD). This is an innovation implemented under CRY project .The entire concept of SANSAD is been translated for children, here students of the school are in opposition and one group is running the country (School) (Satta Paksh), there is PRIMINISTER , FINANCE MINISTRY, WATER MINISTER , EDUCATION MINISTER , ENVIRONMENT MINISTER , CLEANLINESS MINISTER etc. Once in a month the whole ministry with opposition sits , work done is been evaluated , opposition raises their hand for non realization of work, ministers are been asked to clarify . The whole team take decisions in presence of Principal to solve the problems, and appreciated if work is been done. This innovation has been wonderful experience for the children and helpful in mitigating the problems of
children in the school and helped the School in improving the quality of education, cordial relation with
teacher and students , cleanliness of school surroundings ,functionality of School management committee,
decrease in drop-out rate ,increase in attendance etc. Students have started placing their problems before
block and district officials and is been regarded and solved. The sansad also takes decision on cultural
aspects, gaming aspects for the students, so singing song, writing essays , stories competition have been
started. Most of the decisions taken in Bal Sansad is been implemented by the parents, teachers and are
been give due regard of their decisions as most of the decision are in favour of the school.
BAL AKHRA RJSS has been promoting children (BAL AKHRA), this is a place of gathering of all the village level children to
solve any of the child related problems
focussing on school dropout, irregular
attendance, admission, awareness on not
using tobacco, anti smoking campaign.

problems prevailed among the children by
organizing regular Bal Akhra in the villages.
It has been executed in 25 villages. Bal
Akhra has been successful in stopping the ill
practices among the children. Bal Akhra
alone have started campaign and
successfully did several work such as 11
working children have been admitted to school, dropout rate has decreased. Children have also
worked on stopping liquor distribution which was affecting the children parents. Children are also
working on saving environment, cleanliness of the village so cleanliness drive, plantation is been
executed in the villages. Admission of out of school children: 65 children from 24 schools have
been admitted who were out of school and drop out.
Children’s Faire (BAL MELA) The word FAIRE (Mela) attracts children and fantasises to be part of that event and that too for rural children. This is another innovation under the CRY project to organise Bal Mela among the children to get them attracted towards and get benefitted from this emotional ways to improve the education system in the villages , stop drop out, improve attendance . The concept is helpful, attachment with the whole system of education has been perceived by the students. This is an occasion where the children shows their paintings ,innovative structures , science projects , rockets , showcase their other product and sale as well. In the current year 625 children have taken part in the mela organised by them.Parents , school management committee have actively taken part of the Faire organised by the children
