  • Akram Hussain's Painting Of Lord Krishna With Bikini Clad Gopis

India's intolerance to anything remotely relating imaginative art with religion comes to

fore again. In the latest incident, artist Akram Hussain's painting on display at Ravindra

Bhavan in Guwahati's State Art Gallery was taken off display after multiple protest

    from right wing groups.

    Bar Evokes Criticism, Protests

  • A case have been registered, with FIR at Silchar P.S. against Akram Hussain for

painting Nude Shri Krishna. Case no.889 u/s295 (A)/34.

  • The painting in question depicted Lord Krishna standing by a bar getting intimate with

and surrounded by bikini clad women (supposedly new age Gopis).

The artist's take on Lord Krishna's romantic escapades have however not gone down

well with many followers of Hindu religion with many lashing out at him on Twitter

    and otherwise.

Ravindra Bhavan has now taken the painting off the display but nor before Hindu

groups have registered a complaint against Mr Hussain for maligning their god and

    hurting religious sentiments.

  • Islamic Point of View in the above circumstances

Mr. Hussain perhaps you got tempted after hearing this religious Hindu song which is

playing everywhere nowadays: The song is like this Kanha ne kiya missed call, ke

radha bole Hello Hello, Hello Hello Hello Hello. Isint. But in this western version of

Radha-Krishna song the dress code is strictly maintain Indian. (More fanatic Hindus

are also playing the videos of this western version of Rasaleela too, from where I got

a glimpse of the song in petrol pump) Thats their religion, to us is our religion, we

are not going to follow them, neither they are going to follow us. Mr Hussain, the

Hindus have no religious jurisprudence or simply what the common people

understand by Do & Donts, but our religion has complete code of conduct. They say

Shariah, I would not use this term because as soon as Non-Muslims will hear this term,

they will get annoyed and restless. So let it be Do and Donts under Islamic purview.

Mr. Hussain, Hindus can sing and dance in front of their gods and they can drink and

smoke (Ganja) in front of their gods too, because that is their part of religion. There

are erotic carvings upon the temples of Khajuraho but thats a part of Hindu and Jain

temples and religion. Perhaps you got tempted by all these and painted a modern

version of Rasaleela of Krishna with gopis in this latest version of dress code which

is a foremost eligibility to prove oneself as a beauty queen, or university queen, or

world queen etc etc. Perhaps you thought to make the gopis of Kanha modern day

CELEBRETIES. Isnt? But there you deviated from our religious teachings. It is QURAN.

OUR RELIGION STRICTLY PROHIBITS ALL THOSE ACTIVITIES WHICH AMOUNTS TO

MOCKERY OF ANY RELIGION AND RELIGIOUS BELIEF. LOOK AT OUR CODE OF

CONDUCT prescribed by Allah (The Almighty) in Quran for the mankind:

    1. O, you who have believed, do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they

insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every

community their deeds. Then to Allah is their return, and then they will be informed

about what they used to do. (Chapter 6:108)

    2. O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule another people; perhaps they may

be better than them; nor let women ridicule other women; perhaps they may be better

than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by offensive

nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after one's faith. And whoever does

not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers. (Chapter 49 :11)

    3. And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely.

Then, O Prophet, would you compel the people in order that they become believers?

    (10:99)

  • 4. Make religion easy and do not make it complicated to others, give good tidings and

do not cause others to turn away.

    5. And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one, Allah alone; and we are Muslims because we submit to Him."(29:46)

    6. There shall be no compulsion in acceptance of the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut (Deities other than Allah) and believes in Allah alone has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (2:256)

    7. And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel evil by that deed which is better;

and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity will become as though

    he was a devoted friend.(41:34)

    8. Repel, their evil by means of your good deeds and what is best. We are most knowing

    of what they describe (23:96)

    9. And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, "For us are our deeds,

and for you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you; we seek not the ignorant."

    10. Say: O unbelievers! I worship not that whom you worship, nor will you worship that

whom I worship. I shall never worship those deities whom you worship. Nor will you

ever worship Allah, whom I worship. To you be your religion and to me mine. (Chapter

    109: 1-6)

    11. And if the non-believers incline to peace, then incline to peace with them, and rely upon Allah . Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing. But if they intend to

deceive you - then sufficient for you is Allah. It is He who supported you with His help

    and with the believers (8:61-62)

So Mr Hussain, this last verse has a zing thing in it. If they are at peace

we should maintain peace but if they deceive then we should not behave

like them. We should rely upon Allah and He will support with His help.

    This is Islam.

There are more Mr Hussain, but the tea spoon full of sugar is enough to make

a glass of water sweet. My Advice: Never commit such mistakes which gives

a bad name to whole community, and moreover what will be the difference

between a Muslim and Salman Rushdie then, what will be the difference

between a Muslim and Taslima Nasreen then, what will be the difference

between a Muslim and (the list goes on, there are many)

  • O Allah Guide us to the straight path -The path of those upon

whom You have bestowed favor [i.e. those who believe Allah and

in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what Allah has

provided to them and who believe in what has been revealed to

Prophet (Quran), and what was revealed before him (Injeel, Zabur,

Taurat etc which are not available now), and those who are firm in

faith of the Day of Judgment], not of those who have evoked Your

anger or of those who are astray (all those who does not follow the

ways of Allah & Prophet OR follow the ways of Allah but associate

partners to the attributes of Allah, which He alone deserves)
