“To achieve Sustainable Urban
Mobility it require a combination of
several field of study and
competency, but a the bottom it
require a commitment from all
stakeholder that have interest in it. A
solution should be an integrated
solution”
“Traffic congestion is inevitable due
to the increase of people, the
development of economy,
urbanization and everything. We
need to do something, we need to
change the way we do something,
we need to innovate”
“The development of traffic
engineering is one of the most
important aspect. Infrastructure and
related civil engineering is a must
but a priority on developing large
scale transportation in Jakarta
should be gradually improved”
Raptor is combination of public transport and energy
innovation with focus on sustainability

Transformation of motorcycle commuting behavior by public
transportation revitalization and clean energy generation
1.What is Raptor?
• Raptor is motorcycle with a wing
• Raptor is transformation of motorcycle commuting behavior by public
transportation revitalization and clean energy generation. Raptor is catalyst that
promote sustainable urban mobility and as object that help integrated
transportation ecosystem works in harmony.
• Raptor works based on three pillar of sustainability (social, environment and
economic), where priority given to utilize existing infrastructure and changing
behavior
• Elang Bondol (Haliastur indus) official mascot of Jakarta is a raptor, where the
same spirit adopted. Scavenging Raptor eats carrion; they don't kill for food. In
ecosystem a scavenger collect wasted energy. Scavenger is an apex predator,
a predator that residing at the top of food chain.
To achieve sustainable urban mobility focussing on motorcycle
commuting. A well managed motorcycle commuting
1.What is Raptor Goal?
• 40% reduction in number of motorcycle accident by prioritizing safety
• 30% reduction in motorcycle traffic during rush hour, including 25% GHG
• 20% increase in the use of public transportation by mix mode commuting
• 15% reduction in poverty incidence by utilizing people support based on social
justice, economic opportunity and income equality.
• 10% increase in the use of renewable energy by using energy scavenger and
harvesting technology based on cycling.
• Help the economy (Hatta
Rajasa 2010, Dahlan Iskan
2012). 12% growth, 10 mill
p.a
• Contributing of 48% of traffic
composition
• 75% of deadly traffic
accident is from motorcycle.
Every 2 hours motorcycle
driver died of accident
• Half of fuel subsidize is for
motorcycle, 42% of energy
loses is in transportation
• Revitalization is a must,
because its:
• Potential to reduce traffic
congestion and emissions
• Motor (cycling) culture is
Indonesian culture
The Good: Economy
The Bad: Safety, Energy
The Solution
Motorcycle is very important and crucial; a sustainable urban
mobility should involve motorcycle as part of the solution
2.Why motorcycle is part solution?
Transportation mix only can be achieved with motorcycle as the
center of growth, where it managed properly
2.Why motorcycle is part solution mix?
2010 2018 2002 raptor
Private transportation
growth is inevitable.
12% motorcycle
growth will make the
posture not in good
shape
Ideal transportation
mix should relied on
public transportation
Fortune is at the
bottom of pyramid.
The growth of car will
not be able to exceed
motorcycle. Public
transportation is
decreasing as total
percentage
Raptor designed to
normalize the
transportation mix
posture. Motorcycle
should be part of
catalyst and the object
of transformation
Raptor transforms motorcycle commuting. Commuting behavior
transformation can be achieved with paradigm change and action
3.How Raptor works?
Motor Paradigm Raptor Paradigm Action
Motor as social status Motor is one of the
transportation
solution
Catalyst to change to
public transportation,
bike and ride (park)
Motor is cheap
Motor is economical,
it helps economy
development
Combine with other
mode of transport
(mix), make it more
effective
Motor is efficient Motor collect wasted
energy (scavenger)
Motor as efficient
energy solution
Motor is fast Safety should be
priority
Transportation policy
that protect its people
Raptor is a catalyst (scavenger) that promote and as object (actor)
that being transformed (adaptor) into using public transportation
3.How Raptor interact in transport landscape?

Raptor is focusing on rider, road and community. Funding required
for initial implementation support of infrastructure

urban mobility
7.How we can be part of solutions?
1
Switch to public transportation
2
Limit the use of motorcycle, be a Raptor Only use motorcycle for hub connecting transportation, use
motorcycle in a smart way
3
Support the Raptor ecosystem • Controlled critical motorcycle track
• Controlled informal public transport/ojek
• Support government in developing Raptor infrastructure
