I. Handmade color changing satin flag and bands to play humorous group games

This project was developed together with Cláudio Araújo, a physical

education teacher at a public school in Rio de Janeiro. By a participant

observation I was able to understand the core aspects of his teaching

methods - collective awareness and positive reinforcement- and

after extensive experimenting of shapes, colors and functions we

were able to ‘discover’ the final product.

II. Modular educational composting bin

Developed at Sitiê, a communitary ecologic garden in Favela do

Vidigal, the objective of this project was to raise children’s awareness

of the organic cycle of food, using exposed worms composting.

III. Folding sculpture with photos from Rio’s carnival, sent by goers through Facebook

Exploring the emotional power of collective rituals, the idea was

to create an iconic emotional object to carry out the fun and joy of

carnival celebrations. Photos taken by goers and sent to the project’s

Facebook page would be ranked by likes and comentaries received,

and undergo a curatorship to then be placed on the foldings.

Casa Alice is an open space for workshops, courses and other learning

experiences. There is an informal, welcoming atmosphere and a very

strong holistic and spiritual side. Middle eastern influences are also

very present and were decisive in defining the color palette.

An Arts & Design collective based in Rio de Janeiro and focused

on learning and sharing experiences. The main caracteristics are

irreverence, extrovert humour and unceasing exploration of new

and contemporary techniques, materials and languages while

maintaining a high level project standard.

A NGO that teaches extreme sports - rollerblading, skateboarding

and biking- to kids from Favela da Rocinha. They needed a solid

identity to gain respect an confidence inside the community. The

result had to be simple, easy to replicate and creditable.
