What’s On? August 2020 Our work has changed in unimaginable ways during the coronavirus pandemic but our message remains the same: to promote recovery from mental ill health and to empower people to build independent, fulfilled lives. We understand the importance of keeping our services up and running as we move further into these unprecedented times and we continue to adapt quickly so we can still operate. We’re now seeing a change in restrictions which will allow us work with a more physical presence, however this comes with new challenges. This newsletter includes our forthcoming events in the following month - we hope you will find these helpful and will try to engage with some of them. If you have any comments or suggestions, please send these to us. For more information on any events or if you would like this emailed to you each month please email [email protected] or phone Agnes or Helen on 0141 847 8900 and they will be able to direct your enquiry to the right person. This newsletter is being delivered to people by email, on our website, staff intranet and by post. RAMH is a Scottish Registered Charity No. SC010430

A message from our Chief Executive, Stephen McLellan

Hi everyone,

As we move into a further relaxation of lockdown restrictions, it remains crucial that people continue to take every precaution to minimise the risk to themselves and everyone involved with RAMH. We are all desperate to get out and about and 'see' more than what is immediately outside our front windows, I know I am.

However, bear in mind that 'lightening lockdowns' will be imposed at a minute's notice by councils and governments and you may be caught short far from home. Do your research in advance (there are lots of websites that will say where it is reasonably 'safe' to go to).

Enjoy your summer holidays, but take care.

Best wishes,

Stephen

Evaluation

As we are nudging back towards restrictions being lifted, this gives us the opportunity to re-visit how we provide support to individuals who use our services.

We don’t necessarily want to just move back to doing things exactly as we were before, as we hope over the past few months we have made some positive changes to how we deliver our support. We have commissioned the assistance of one of our previous students "Jo Shand" - to gather feedback on peoples experience of their support, from housing support and community services during this time, to help us shape how we move forward.

Please keep an eye out for communication from Jo either as a text, email or phone call - we would really appreciate it you could take a few minutes to give us your feedback.

STV Fund

The STV fund is still available for RAMH workers to support people with children under 18. Workers can apply for a small amount to support summer activities or games, a bike, IT or anything that you think would enhance a child and their families life. Individuals can make suggestions to their RAMH service worker. Application forms are available from [email protected] or email [email protected] for more information.

RAMH Caravan

After a shuddery start to the holiday season, we are hopeful that we will be able to take bookings for the RAMH 6 berth caravan, at Craig Tara in Ayr again from 17 July. If you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch with Rona - on 0141 847 8900.
