Robert has lived with anxiety since a teenager but was not able to identify an event or time when it started. Robert’s anxiety would display itself in very negative ways making him reactive and snappy to those closest to him and therefore as a result having an impact on his relationships. Robert lives at home with his wife and children and it was actually his wife who needed to push to tell him he needed to get support. Have an induction at the gym support by RAMH physical activity worker And Now……“The change has been quite clear through my involvement with RAMH and engagament with physical activity.The biggest change has been seen at home where before there was a stigma around mental health the whole family are now open and understanding of each other. II am now a lot more enthusiastic energetic and ultimatley happy, with my daughter even saying im a’ new man’, that was great to hear. By becoming more physically active I have cut down drastically on my smoking, I don’t drink as much, my sleep has improved and my general wellbeing is improved. I am now a lot more confident talking to others about mental health and my mental health and the help that RAMH has given me. The biggest thing I discovered was I was not alone Mental health issues effect a lot of different people in a number of different ways. The groups I have joined (Badminton/football) have given me the opportunity to socialise with people who understand and can support me and that has really helped in my recovery. I self- referred into the service through advice from my GP and it’s been the best decision I have made. I’m now positive about the future and feeling great Initial assessment Jan18 Review Mar18

He wanted to cope better with the added pressure of the home; work and his family needs and felt to do this he needed to improve his mental and physical health and wellbeing
