Report for the period from 17 March, 2018 to 28 June, 2018
1. Examinations - i) The second monthly examination for the boys of class V to X was held from 26 to 28 April,
2018 ii) The Higher Secondary Examination – conducted by the H.S. council was held from
27/03/2018 to 11/04/2018. 78 boys appeared in this examination from our Vidyalaya.
iii) The class XI Annual Examination was held from 27/03/2018 to 11/04/2018. 77 boys appeared in this Examination.
iv) The Revision Test for the boys of V to X was held from 25.06.2018 to 04.07.2018.
v) The Admission Test for in-taking few (twenty) outside students in class XI was held on 13.06.2018. 60 boys from our Vidyalaya have been directly admitted
on the basis of their academic performance in both school’s examinations and the Board’s examination. The result of the Aptitude Test was published on 16 June, 2018. New boys took admission on 18 June, 2018. The classes of have been started from 21 June, 2018.
2. Students’ Achievement - i) Ananya Pal of class V(C) of our Vidyalaya was felicitated by our
Primary Education Board with a gold medal, books and cash (Rs. 1200/-) as he stood first in Scholarship Examination organised by W. B. Primary Education Board.
ii) In Mio-Amore Mathemazic – 2017-18, 1503 students from 109 schools participated. 11 boys from V to IX in the year 2017 secured position in Top 10 and received prize money and certificate. Our Vidyalaya has been recognised as the best performer in the examination among all participated schools.

iv) The following students of our school received the 'State Level' prizes for their excellent performance in SATST - 2017 organised by ALL INDIA SCIENCE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION, W.B. Total 11,733 students of near about 700 schools from std. III to XII participated and only 72 students have qualified & got Prizes including 10 Students from our Vidyalaya (classes V to X).

3. Cultural Competition - In this time period various cultural competitions were organised in both junior and senior sections. Results are as follow –

4. Cultural Programme - i) On 9th May, 2018, 158th Rabindra Jayanti was
celebrated at the Mango-grove in the morning. The Chief Guest of the function was Swami Shastrajnanandaji Maharaj, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math. The students of class VIII, IX and X staged short dramas based on Tagore’s works in the evening in Vidyalaya Assembly Hall. Class Name of Drama – Staged

ii) 76th Ashrama Foundation Day was observed on 18 April, 2018. After a colourful function at the V.C. Hall, all took ‘lunch – prasad’ in the Vidyalaya hostels. Students of junior section sang. Abhishek Kasyap, a student of class X delivers a speech.
iii) Flutist Sri Dilip Naskar presented a flute recital at Junior Section Assembly Hall on 1 May, 2018. He was accompanied by Sri Amiya Majhi in Harmonium and Sri Somen Dutta in Tabla.
5. Seminar and workshops - i) Department of Mathematics organised
‘Diamond Jubilee Seminar Lecture’ on 14 May6, 2018 at Senior Section Assembly Hall. Students from VIII to X attended the seminar. Dr. Partha Sarathi Mukhopadhyay, Department of Mathematics, R.K. M. Residential College (Autonomous) delivered a lecture on – “What do the divider do in your Geometry Box”?
ii) Class X boys attended the first Swami Mumukshananda Memorial oration on ‘Kalidaser Kabye Shib’ by Prof. Samiran Chandra Chakraborty at Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, on 3 April, 2018.
6. Popular Talk - i) Sri Chandril Bhattacharya, an alumnus of the
Vidyalaya, Bengali Columnist, Lyricist, Poet, Singer delivered a popular talk on 17 March, 2018. Boys of class VIII to X attended the lecture.
ii) Swami Mahaprjnanananda, Dept. Of Zoology, R. K. Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math delivered a Popular Talk on “A Journey to Indira Gandhi wild life sanctuary – the most important part of Western ghat – Srilanka Bio-diversity hotspot” on Saturday 31 March, 2018. Boys of class VIII to X
attended the lecture. iii) Dr. Kiranmay Das, Assistant Professor of
Statistics, I.S.I., Kolkata, delivered a popular talk on “Uncertainty, Randomness and inductive Science” on Tuesday, 1 May, 2018 to the boys from Classes VIII to X.
iv) On 2 May, 2018. Dr. Amitava Roy, Scientist, National Institute of Health, U.S.A. and an alumnus of 1990 Madhyamik Batch delivered a lecture on “How Computer, Physics and Mathematics can help to understand Biology –

a mini introduction to computational Biology” to class XII boys.

8. Visits - i) Vice President, Revered Swami Prabhanandaji
Maharaj was at Ashrama from 17 to 25 April, 2018. Diksha ceremony was held on 20, 22, 24 April, 2018 respectively. Some of our Vidyalaya students were given ‘Diksha’.
9. Games and Sports - i) On 5 May, 2018 a friendly football match was
played between our Vidyalaya football main team and EMRS, Jhargram football team. But Narendrapur Vidyalaya team was defeated by a 3 – 1 margin.
ii) As a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration, our Vidyalaya organised Under-16 Inter-School League-cum knockout Cricket tournament from 10 March to 7 April, 2018. It was named as Swami Asaktananda Memorial tournament. 12 teams participated and they were divided into 4 groups. Our school boys played up to the semi-final and they were then defeated. Kamrabad Boys High School emerged as the Champion as they defeated Nava-Nalanda School in the final. On the final day for the prize distribution, we
had two former great players, Mr. Arun Lal and Mr. Laxmi Ratan Shukla among us.
iii) In order to celebrate 150 Birth Anniversary Tournament – inspired by our Honourable chief minister, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math organised an Inter Ramakrishna Mission football tournament from 20 to 26 May, 2018.

Our Vidyalaya boys participated in this tournament and reached at the semi-final stage. They were defeated by Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram. In the final Ramakrishna Mission, Rahara emerged as winner and lifted the trophy.
iv) In this time period, Vidyalaya organised various games competition in both junior and senior sections.

10. Guardians’ Meet - School management met with the guardians of class X on 13 May, 2018 and discussed various aspects of academic and
hostel related issues.
11. Miscellaneous –
i) In this time period, on 19 March, 2018 Br. Adrish Maharaj has joined as the Co-ordinator of H.S. section as well as the supervisor of Examination in Senior Section. The Vidyalaya family welcomed him heartily.
ii) On 21 March, 2018, 50 students (VII to IX) from our school participated in the “International Deforestation Awareness Day” at Alipore Zoo. They participated in a drawing competition in which the subject was “Forest and sustainable cities”.
iii) A special Puja was organised on 25 March, 2018 for the boys of Class XII before their Higher Secondary examination and the boys and their guardians took part in the puja.
iv) On 2 April, 2018, the Rotary club of Calcutta distributed dictionaries among the students of our Vidyalaya.
v) On 25 April, 2018, all the teachers and non-teaching staff members of our Vidyalaya offered their ‘Pranam’ to Revered Swami Prabhanandaji Maharaj, our Ex-Headmaster as well as the ideal maker of the Vidyalaya.
vi) On 10 May and 11 May 2018 class X boys and class XII boys attended EXPO – 2018 (Higher
Education in China) at Biswa Bangla convention centre, Newtown, Kolkata.
vii) On 21 June, 2018, International Day of Yoga was observed at our Vidyalaya. Students from VIII to X participated in the Yoga demonstration.

viii) On 21 June, 2018, an inaugural meeting was held at Room no. 46 with newly admitted boys of class XI. Revered Swami Sandarshanandaji and Prof. Manjushree Roy, Principal of Calcutta Medical College graced the function.
ix) Revered Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj sent a mail to our respected Secretary Maharaj congratulating our boys and staff for our excellent result in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations.
