1. INTRODUCTION/ WELCOME

WELCOME

On behalf of the organizing committee for the 2016 Coffee Day India Rally of Chikamaglur, we extend a warm welcome to all competitors and their teams, media and other participants. Your participation in and enjoyment of this prestigious event on the Indian rally calendar is important to us and we look forward to working with you to make sure your visit to India’s largest Coffee town is successful and enjoyable. In 2016, the Coffee Day India Rally of Chikamaglur proud to hosts the Indian round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship for the first time as well as the final round of the Indian National Rally Championship. We also, successfully ran a round of APRC Asia Cup in 2015. The Rally Headquarters, Service Park, Finish, Parc Ferme, Media Centre, Scrutineering, Shakedown and the Super Special Stage are all located within a couple of kilometers of the picturesque Chikamaglur Town. Coffee Day Global Ltd (formerly known as ABC, Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Co) in the center of Chikamaglur, which is approx. 260 km North of Bangalore. The Ceremonial Start this year will take place inside the Coffee Day Global Ltd Thursday Evening. In 2016 the rally route will have newly formed route in the Coffee plantation tight & twisty belonging to our title sponsor M/S Coffee Day Global ltd. It has been designed to provide new challenges for drivers while continuing to use the fast and smooth roads so well-known and liked throughout in IRC. The Amber Valley Super Special Stage will run inside the premises of Amber Valley residential School on the Friday afternoon. This stage brings refreshed rallying into the entire district for spectators to enjoy which attracts around 10,000 avid rally fans from all over the state. The information contained in this Rally Guide is designed to assist you to ensure that your visit to both India and Chikamaglur is free of any logistical and operational problems. If you should require any further information we have assembled a competent and efficient team to assist you so please do not hesitate to contact the Rally Secretariat. As always the event has been put together with safety and you the competitor in the forefront of our planning and we would like to wish you all a safe, successful and enjoyable rally. THE MOTOR SPORTS CLUB CHIKAMAGLUR The Motorsports Club of Chikamaglur born in 1980 is one of the oldest and most prestigious

Motorsports club in India, MSCC has its history ranging from the 'Coffee 500' rally (1982) to the

current 'Indian National Rally Championship' which happens annually. The blend of the scenic

beauty and the sounds of the screeching tires make the events happening in Chikamaglur as the

most awaited.

spread over 2500 acres.

5. SERVICE PARK

All service will be at Coffee day classic coffee roasting unit, behind Amber valley school. Teams will be allocated a designated service area in the service park. Teams who wish to be allocated a servicing position alongside another team or those who require an area bigger than 9m x 6m must advise the secretariat by November 30th, 2016. INFORMATION ABOUT THE SERVICE PARK: SERVICE PARK : ABC CLASSIC ROASTING UNIT Type of surface: Dirt Faclities: Car Wash, Power Supply, Food will be supplied at the service park to the crew. Petrol/ Diesel: Less than 5 Minutes drive to the nearest fuel station 6. RADIO

6.1) APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Any radio equipment used by a competitor and/or associated support teams in India must be

covered by a license issued by an External Engineer of Radio Spectrum Management

Its operation must be strictly within the terms and conditions of the license. The installation

or use of equipment without a license, or outside the terms, renders the operator/installer

liable for prosecution.
