Rako lighting systems make the Smart Home

dream a reality but can equally be applied toother applications. Oce, meeting and conerence

acilities take on a more proessional image withmoods or presentations and meetings. Restaurantsand bars can change the environment, enhancing

customers experience with smooth ading, reducingthe impact and intrusion o cumbersome switching.

Scene changes can be easily selected by sta orautomatically rom repeatable timed events. Hotelrooms can add sophistication giving guests a little

extra luxury whilst dining and public areas benetrom a more relaxing eel as scenes become moreintimate as the evening progresses.

Mood lighting systems oer the user the ability to recalla scene, or mood o lighting, at the touch o a single

button despite controlling multiple circuits and lamptypes. Circuits are split to dene zones and highlightroom eatures and are programmed to suit the dierent

uses o a space. Scene changes incorporate adetimes giving subtle lighting transitions.

Advanced technologies allow control o all lightttings, including the dimming o LEDs, fuorescentlighting and low voltage ttings, saving energy and

increasing lamp lie as lamps are dimmed.

Push button systems allow two, or multi-way control

and can be controlled rom hand-held remotes aswell as the new generation o Smartphones. Digital

communication means system integration is easilyachievable, linking lighting to audio-visual, security andhome/building controllers, including control o curtains,

blinds and screens.

Advanced programming eatures allow Master Ocontrol rom any keypad or maybe a button to createa Welcome Home scene. The addition o a TCMtime-clock module provides Holiday Mode security,

timed events and astro dawn/dusk programming.The TCM also allows sequenced events and macro

commands.

Rako oers a number o installation options includingwireless control or ease o installation and retro-t

applications. More complex projects may suit thewired network with centralised RAK units, or possibly

combined systems giving a mix o both. The abilityto oer wireless, wired or combined options meansRako can provide the best possible approach or any

project and gives the saety net should cables beorgotten or extra wall-plates be needed ater wallsare sealed.

Rakos wireless system provides all

the benets o a sophisticated lightingcontrol system without the need to

re-wire and can be used in both new andretro-t installations. The wireless capabilityprovides the most cost eective andsimple to install solution saving on cabling

and re-decoration.

Wireless systems can use either individual

modules or Rakos RAK system with theRxLink wireless interace.

Modules wire in-line with each lightingcircuit and can be mounted either in theceiling or in a central cupboard. Split

lighting into circuits to allow independentcontrol and provide the ability to highlight

dierent areas and eatures within a room.

Wall-plates can be fush mounted

into a standard back-box or can be

surace mounted, requiring no cabling at

all as they communicate wirelessly with thereceiver modules.

Modules are available to suit all types oload rom incandescent, low voltage andfuorescent to the latest generation o LEDs.

Systems can be as small as one circuitand one wall-plate up to whole homeinstallations with master house controllers

and ull system integration. Signalrepeaters make wireless practical or thelargest o projects.

Simple connection o the Rako Bridge toa wireless router provides programming

access via Wi-Fi and allows control romRakos iPhone, iPad and Android Apps,

giving access to both scene and individualchannel control.

The Rako wired system is the option or

customers who preer a cabled network.It oers LED backlit buttons with the option

or custom etching and ultimately cancope with the largest o projects.

Using CAT5 cabling, system components

are wired either as a daisy chainnetwork or star arrangement using theRAK-STAR box.

Circuits are wired to a central locationor a number o hubs, linked together

on the network and connected toappropriate RAK-4 packs which includethe silent transistorised RAK-4T, RAK-4F

or 0-10V, DSI, DALI or switch control.The RAK-4R is available or curtain and

blind control and colour changing canbe incorporated using Rako DMX or LEDcontrol packs.

User controls, including wall-plates, PIRs,

time-clocks and system interaces areadded to the network and programmed

rom a PC connected via Wi-Fi to a Bridgeunit. Adding a WTC Bridge to the systemgives access to timed events, HolidayMode, dawn/dusk programming and

advanced macros and mapping eatures.End users can then program scenes

or events such as breakast, lunch and

dinner rom an iPhone or iPad providingtotal user control.

The ability to combine Rako wireless and

wired systems provides a unique solutionor installers and end-users alike. This

amazing fexibility gives a remarkablechoice in installation methods allowing thecreation o a network o components thatinteract and work seamlessly together.

Projects started as completely wiredsystems have the all-back position that

the addition o wireless modules and wall-plates allows, giving the get out o jailree card or when the job doesnt quite

go to plan, or when system expansionis required, ater cabling is complete.

Some projects may just suit the combinedapproach such as where a new build orextension is added to an existing building

and a lighting control system is required inboth parts.

The Rako Bridge used to combine the

wireless and wired systems also allowscomplete control rom an iPhone or iPad

and can provide remote access to thenetwork rom a PC. Addition o the ACMaudio control module will enable controlo a third party audio system rom the

combined lighting and audio wall-plates.

The whole palette o Rako products and

the ability to combine allows projectdesigners to plan the best possible solutionor any project.

Rako BridgesRako Bridges link wireless and Rako wired systems, also providing

additional unctionality such as iPhone/iPad/Android control. They

are the building blocks o Combined Rako systems.

Adding the TCM module to either wireless or wired Bridges enablesastronomic time clock events, automated macros, conditional logic and

holiday simulation.

Adding the ACM module enables control o a select number o multiroom

audio systems over ethernet, including the LINN DS media units.

Combined controlModular 50 x 50mm design o the wall-plate module, allows bothlighting, window treatment or third-party controls to be combined on

the same plate. The example shown is the RCM070 and the NuvoOLED UK Style Controller, tted within a standard double gang euro

cover plate.

Third Party systemsWRA-232: Bi-directional communication with third-party systems using

an RS232 serial connection or via TCP/IP over ethernet.

The ideal interace when control to and rom audio-visual systems

is required.

An additional unction o the WRA-232 is custom strings. The WRA-232can be congured to transmit ASCII commands over RS232 or TCP/

IP, triggered rom any Rako controller. Examples include AV Receivers,heating controllers, security systems and multiroom audio systems like

the Opus 600 series.
