Inauguration Ceremony of

IEEE student Branch of REC Ambedkar Nagar (STB-11386)

The inaugural ceremony of IEEE student Branch of REC Ambedkar Nagar (STB-11386) was

organized successfully on 26/11/2018. The chief Guest of this event was Dr. A. K. Mishra (Director,

REC Ambedkar Nagar), Guest of Honour was Dr. Aseem Chandel (Associate Professor & Head of

EED, REC Mainpuri and Convenor of student activities committee, IEEE UP Section), Dr. V.S.

Chandel (Registrar), REC Ambedkar Nagar), Dr. S. P. Singh (Head, EED, REC Ambedkar Nagar), Dr.

Mohammed Aslam Husain (Branch Counsellor- IEEE student Branch of REC Ambedkar

Nagar), other faculty members of the department & college and students were present.

Director of the college thanks to all faculty members of Electrical Engineering Department for

opening this new IEEE student branch and also motivate to organize many events under this

banner.

The office bearers of this IEEE student branch are Dr. Mohammed Aslam Husain (Branch

Counsellor), Mr. Shivraj Vishwakarma (Branch Chair), Ms. Preeti Maurya (Branch Vice-Chair),

Maneesh K Gupta (Branch secretary), Mr. Akash Gangwar (Branch Treasurer) and Ashish

Kumar Saroj & Neeraj Kumar (Branch Webmaster).

Dr. Aseem Chandel delivered an expert lecture on "IEEE Awareness - Volunteers and

Leadership" and explained in details the role of IEEE. In the end, Dr. S. P. Singh thanks to Dr.

Aseem Chandel for delivering such a nice lecture.

1. Achievement for Department of Civil Engineering

(1) Mr. Avaneesh Kumar Yadav and Mr. Amit Kumar Rai have been included as “Outside Expert”

in the Board of Studies (BOS) of Civil Engineering Course of J.C. Bose University of Science

and Technology YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana as a part of Twinning Activity under TEQIP-III.

(2) Mr. Ayush Mittal and Ms. Sukeerti Bansal published a review paper titled “Stabilization of

Soil Using Synthetic Geotextiles – A Review” in Journal of Emerging Technologies and

Innovative Research (JETIR), Vol. 5, Issue 11, November 2018, pp. 225-227.

(3) Mr. Anoop Kumar Verma attended a one-day workshop on “Equity Action Plan” on Nov.

19, 2018 at Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh organised by NPIU-SPIU in

association with the World Bank.

(4) Mr. Amit Kumar Rai, member of Institute Innovation Council (IIC), participated in the

inaugural function of Institute Innovation Council on Nov. 21, 2018 at AICTE HQs, New

Delhi.

(5) Mr. Nitin Kumar Shukla is attending a workshop on “Universal Human Values and

Professional Ethics (FDP Level-1)” from Nov. 29, 2018 to Dec. 06, 2018 at Institute of

Technology and Management, Gorakhpur.

(6) Ms. Vaishali Rajbhar and Mr. Mohd. Asim along with 15 students from B.Tech Civil

Engineering Branch of our college attended a one-day workshop on “Geospatial

Technologies- Recent Trends and Growth Opportunities” on 30.11.2018 at AKTU

Campus, Lucknow.

(7) An Expert Lecture was delivered by Dr. Pallav Gupta, Assistant Professor (Grade-II),

Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University (Noida) on the topic “From



micromechanics to Structural Engineering-Development and Characterization of

Composite Materials for civil engineering applications" on 30.11.2018, to fulfil the

curriculum gaps and meeting current requirements and challenges of industry, academia and

research.

2. Achievement for Department of Electrical Engineering :

(1)Dr. S. P. Singh, Associate Professor & HOD, session chaired on November 02, 2018 in UPCON-

2018 5th IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference, organized by MMMUT,

Gorakhpur, during November 02-04, 2018.

(2) Mohammed Aslam Husain, Arif Iqbal, Yudhishthir Pandey, S. P. Singh, Member, IEEE, and

Abu Tariq “A novel fast alternative Duty (FAD) MPPT procedure for Solar PV Hybrid

Vehicles” in UPCON-2018 5thIEEE Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference, organized

by MMMUT, Gorakhpur, during November 02-04, 2018.

(3) Shashi Pandey, Shashi Kant Chaudhary, Dr. S. P. Singh, Member, IEEE, and K. G. Upadhyay

“Hankel Norm Approximation of a Highly Unstable Systems” in UPCON-2018 5th IEEE Uttar

Pradesh Section International Conference, organized by MMMUT, Gorakhpur, during

November 02-04, 2018. (Got Best Paper Award).

(4) Mr. Yudhishthir Pandey successfully attended short term course on “Embedded World” during

26-30th November 2018 at YMCA University, Faridabad

(5) Mr. Sonu Kumar successfully attended short term course on “Embedded World” during 26-30th

November 2018 at YMCA University, Faridabad



3. Achievement for Department of Information Technology :

(1) Dr. Sudhakar Tripathi, Associate Professor & HOD; Anuj Singh & Arun Vikram,presented a

paper entitled ‘Classification of Neuromuscular Disorder using Machine Learning Techniques’,

International Conference NGCT-2018, UPES Dehradun, 21-22 Nov 2018.

4. Achievement for Department of Applied Science and Humanities :

(1) Dr. Sushant Chaturvedi, Assistant Professor, Attended and presented a paper entitled

Politics, Partition and Portrayal of History: A Rereading of Train to Pakistan in National

Seminar on "History Myth and Orality: Cultural and Literary Traditions in India" held on 14th -

15th November, 2018 at Department of English, BHU Varanasi.
