2019 NPEA Conference: Workshop Proposal Application

Conference Theme and Description:Raising Our Voices: Bold Innovations That Empower StudentsAs our country continues to face overwhelming challenges, NPEA’s 11th annual conference invites us tocollectively raise our voices to champion the power of educational access and success. The time is nowfor open and frank discussions on topics such as college affordability, student mental health and well-being, identity and character development, youth voice, college and career readiness, measuring ourimpact, and diversity, equity, and inclusion issues across the field. Working together, we will continue tomeet last year’s call to action to unite for change as we reimagine educational access and success inpartnership with students, families, colleagues, and communities.

NPEA continues to focus heavily on concrete learning and takeaways that benefit the field. For the 2019conference, we will provide ample opportunities for active learning leading up to, throughout, and followingthe conference. As an attendee, you should be ready to learn, willingto roll up your sleeves, prepared to network, open to self-reflection, and eager to grapple with critical topicsto promote positive change. Our goal is for all participants to leave with as much actionable information aspossible, and to create a culture and community of continuous learning that starts before and extends wellbeyond the conference.
