! Raindance Windsor-Detroit’s goals are to maximize the growth of local

services, programs, talent and infrastructure. As a non-profit !

organization dedicated to education and development of film, digital !

media and the creative arts in Windsor/Essex County and Detroit, we will provide

! For many years, Windsor has talked about developing an !

infrastructure great enough to attract film producers from across Canada and the

world. Independent local filmmakers and entrepreneurs recognize the potential of

the Windsor region therefore they began working together to put Windsor on the

global map by sending out the message that this is destination for filmmakers. We

are honoured that Raindance Windsor-Detroit is one of the newest addition to

Raindance family and the only chapter to bridge an International border.!

! The Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media and Creative Arts has a

MAster Business License to also operate as Raindance Windsor-Detroit, a chapter

of Raindance International (raindance.org). We are a newly formed non-profit

currently offering programs out of dispersed locations until our future home, at 709

Ouellette is renovated.!

!! This unique, state-of-the-art centre is expected to be the Windsor-Detroit

region’s premier hub for film, digital media and the !

creative arts. Collaborating with the academic communities, downtown residents,

businesses, non-profit organizations, high schools, community leaders, and

eventually global artists, the Centre will strive to build and sustain a film industry.!

General Information

Raindance was established

in 1992 to provide

information and advice to

the then-struggling

British independent film

community. Dedicated to

fostering and promoting

independent film in both

the UK and around the

world, Raindance is

unique, combining film

training courses with the

UK's only truly

independent film festival,

specializing in first-time

filmmakers.

It has seen great

filmmakers such as Guy

Richie, Christopher Nolan

and David Yates

Jessica Cook

Jessica Rachel Cook, OCT graduated from

the University of Windsor with an Honours Bachelor of

Fine Art and a Bachelor of Education and is presently

working towards her Master of Education at the

University of Windsor. Jessica is a multi-media/

computer graphic artist who works in combination

with traditional fine arts, photography and

contemporary mediums to create promotional and

marketing materials for online, print, film & television.

She has worked on projects with such companies as

The University of Windsor, Kickstand Entertainment,

Mach2Films, NAFTC Studio, Peerless Productions, and

The Dot Film Company.

Amanda is President & CEO at MANAN Strategy

Consultants / MANAN Media. She is President of the

Raindance Centre and Treasurer of the Windsor Centre for

Film & Digital Media. With degrees in business and art, she

is skilled at both marketing and community development.

She has been an Executive Director of three non-profits and

the Vice President of Advancement for the University of

Windsor. Amanda has been on the founding Board of many

successful organziations and is proud to be working to

launch an annual film camp as well as a film and digital

media centre for the region.

Kevin has done a number of acting performances on stage, film and television. He is also the voice and puppeteer of Leo. In fact, he has starred in over 60 stage productions over the last 8 years. Favourites of his include Joseph Merrick in "The Elephant Man", Owen in "The Melville Boys", and Abner in "L'il Abner". He recently received Best Actor Award 2009, and People's Choice Best Actor Award 2009 in the North Vancouver Theater Festival for the role of Norman in "Table Manners"

Robert Whent

Rob Whent is the Entrepreneur in

Residence at WEtech Alliance, a Regional

Innovation Centre and a pioneer in the digital media

space, founding two technology companies. His

startup, Think-2-Learn, is developing adaptive

video game technology to identify and improve

cognitive ability in children with learning

disabilities.

Kevin Scott

Leo was born May 11th, 2006 in Roswell, New

Mexico. He likes to take care of the environment, play

Xbox and watch My Little Pony. You can watch and learn

with Leo at Discovery Games

“Hi - I'm Leo and I'm not from around here. I

know I look different on the outside but trust me, I am

just like all the other kids at my school. I like to ride my

bike and text my friends using BBM (Dad wants me to go

Android but I a BBM'er). I believe we should all take care

of our planet and Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. I keep

hearing grown ups talking about me having learning

disabilities which makes me really sad. I don't have a

disability - THEY DO! They can't teach me they way I

learn. We all learn differently so why can't they teach us

all differently? I have to go now, Scott is texting me...."

Leo

Born in Mississauga, Ontario. Raised in

Windsor, Ontario. Ray Ligaya is a musician, singer/

songwriter, and recording artist who hopes that one day

his music is heard throughout the world. He currently

uploads all his covers, originals, vlogs, & vines to his

YouTube channel determined to build a dedicated

following. On the side, he works as a weekend parking

garage attendant. He is also an entertainer on the 'Vine'

app. Through all his social networks, he is devoted to

making a name for himself from his music and comedy.

Gavin Michael Booth

Rhys Wyn Trenhaile is an annual, multi-million dollar “Top Producer” real estate agent at Manor Realty Ltd., well known for residential and income property sales. While at the University of Windsor, Rhys completed a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Biology and Geography, and then attended the University’s nationally revered School of Law where he obtained his!Juris Doctorate (JD.).!He competed on Windsor’s flagship Track & Field and Cross Country Teams, where he contributed to 9 provincial titles and 1 national title, obtaining individual All-Canadian status 4 times. Now, Rhys has switched to acting as a passion and can currently be seen as a series lead on YTV’s prime time show!Extreme Babysitting.

Born in Missassauga, Ontario, Gavin has made himself a career as a film director, cinematographer, producer, writer, editor, and pretty much everything in the world of movies, shorts, and even music videos. In fact, his most recent collaboration with the Canadian singer-songwriter Emma-Lee, a music video for the song

Shadow of a Ghost, won the “best music video” award at the 12th Annual Independent Music Awards. ‘Growing up, filmmaking was always my

imaginary friend. I could feel it, spend time with it, enjoy it's company... I just had to convince the rest of the world it really existed.”

Bill has been working in the broadcast television and

video business since 1974. He has experience in most aspects

of the business from shooting to sales,writing to lighting!

Bill's current focus is on the explosion of web video and making

certain that business owners and managers are utilizing the

selling and buying power of a well produced web video. He

worked as crewmember for the worldwide broadcast of

Olympic sliding events originating from Whistler Sliding Centre

for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. He also served as Lead

Utilities Hand (TV) for Paralympic Events Telecasts originating

from Whistler Olympic Park in Callaghan Valley BC.

Rhys Trenhaile

Wayne is a member of the American Film Institute and a

graduate of the University of Western Ontario. He has

collected over 25 years of experience in Radio and Television

Broadcasting before making a living as a script advisor for

filmmakers. As an instructor at Walkerville Secondary

School, Wayne has a passion for sharing his passion for

screenwriting with the next generation of filmmakers. Visit

My name is Derek Kovacevic (Kuh-vaw-suh-vik). I own!Delirium Media, a video production company in Windsor, Ontario. While attending the!Specs Howard school of media Arts, I worked as an intern for!Palace Sports & Entertainment, and also for Fox Sports Detroit. My interests include independent film, technology, humour, hockey (Detroit Red Wings), and rock and roll. Jeff Nadalin

Growing up on the US/Canada border

near Detroit, MI, Jeff Nadalin fell in love with the

business of film early on and never looked

back. He is the President and CEO of Kickstand

Entertainment Inc., a film production and

finance company earning a reputation as the

"go-to" partner for independent film. He lives in

Windsor, Ontario with his wife and daughter.

Jeff also holds a Bachelor of Education from the

University of Windsor. Heis the President of the

Windsor Centre for Film and Digital Media and a

co-producer of The Birder.

John Nabben teaches the dramatic arts

program at Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts. In

2010, WCCA drama participated in the Sears Drama

Festival and performed with the original play "The

Holding Room" written by John Nabben himself, which

continued well past the Regional awards and moved onto

the Provincials as well.

John Nabben

Mitchell Branget is a grade 12 student at St.

Joseph's High School. He hopes to further his education

in film studies. He has been involved in several movie

making projects. He created a media awareness video

for the Daffodil Cancer fundraiser at his school that

gained the attention of the Canadian Cancer Society. His

special area of interest is in creating special affects and

make-up artestry for horror movies. He has been

involved in several projects with Film Study students

from the University of Windsor and has also been

working on a movie entitled Goregasmia at Harvest's

!As with any Hollywood movie, everything starts with Pre-

Production. This is the step where the campers collaborated

together to write a script for their group movies at the end of

each week. The campers learned elements of storyboarding and

the techniques that go into writing a successful and industry

standard screenplay.

! Production on a movie is exactly that: the making of the movie. The campers learned how to film a scene and complete an entire short film with the help of their fellow crew

and cast members. The campers assigned roles to help ease the process just like a real hollywood movie!

! Regarded as the most essential element, post-

production is the an important aspect to any movie.

Post-production is when the whole movie comes

together and creates something spectacular,

mesmerizing and memorable. The campers learned

how to edit their films as well as make limited

advertising articles to help promote their short films.

able to view their accomplishments is an incredible experience and one that they will cherish after all of their dedication and hard work
