Since Corio was on a tight budget, we got creative with paint and carpet and strong architectural features like the Copy/Coffee Utility areas which were in the form of a trivet and which were topped with back-lit Lumacite panels.

The circular “plaza” serves as a pivotal circulation and security point, expanding visually and spatially through the use of design features such as large pivot doors and a bamboo clad staircase.

A two-story mahogany portal rising to the upper floor maintains a sense of openness and adds warmth and contrast to the exposed concrete.
This was no easy task given the raised floor and a post-tension slab.

The final phase of a 2-year expansion and renovation consisted of a Conference Center built at $105 /sq.ft. and employing plasma screens built into acoustic wall systems and a rear-projection system for state of the art video conferencing and presentations.

One of the most complex designs/construction projects where, in order to keep the flow of space in a large floor plate, exiting and fire separation had to be achieved by innovative means like sliding fire-rated partitions.

The Brick-and-timber Historic building was effectively integrated into the design and serves as the employee-only lounge and lunch room. The brick and floor were left exposed with floating elements incorporated for acoustics.
