On April 6, 1520, Raffaello Sanzio, one of the greatest geniuses of the Renaissance, died in Rome. On the 500th anniversary of his death, while waiting for the places of culture to reopen and allow us to see the works of art live again, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation together with the network of Italian Cultural Institutes in the world celebrates the great Maestro through numerous multimedia initiatives accessible online.
A collection of in-depth videos dedicated to the figure of the Renaissance Master is now available on the Farnesina's YouTube channel Raffaello 500: Universal Master. In this collection it will be possible to view the trailers of the two itinerant exhibitions, Raffaello Opera Omnia and Magister Raffaello; ten videos by scholars and experts on Raffaello, dedicated to lesser known aspects of the Maestro; three virtual visits kindly granted by the Scuderie del Quirinale, dedicated to Villa Madama, the walk in the Raffaello 1520-1483 exhibition set up at the Scuderie and a video that tells about its genesis and objectives in the words of Mario De Simoni, President and CEO of Ales and President of the Scuderie del Quirinale.

A lezione con Raffaello
In-depth videos to learn more about Raphael's work, character and relevance.
With the hashtag #RaffaelloOltreLaMostra it will be possible to listen to the presentations offered by the curators and virtually participate in the meetings hosted at Palazzo Altemps before the opening of the exhibition to the public, from Silvia Ginzburg,* who deals with the theme of Raphael's youth, to Antonio Natali, who tells the painter's Florentine period, up to Alessandro Zuccari, who explores his activity in the capital.
Many contributions were also offered by the curators of the exhibition and by important scholars who will analyze the works and the great themes related to the art of Raphael. The series, introduced by the curator Marzia Faietti* with Some Reasons, Among Many Others, to Love Raffaello, will start with Matteo Lafranconi, curator and Director of Scuderie del Quirinale, right from the exhibition’s opening point, Raphael's death. Afterwards, the co-curators Francesco Di Teodoro and Vincenzo Farinella will deepen the Letter to Leo X, the project of Villa Madama, Raphael's relationship with the ancient world, with his patrons and the years of youth. Finally, the scholar Achim Gnann will present a reflection on Raphael and Giulio Romano.
The online activities will continue with #RaffaelloInMostra: video-walks inside the rooms, enriched with details and curiosities about the works, and forays into the backstage, with the story of the exhibition set-up which boasts masterpieces from the collections of the most important museums in the world , for a total of 204 works, 120 by Raffaello himself between paintings and drawings.
