Proposed Styles to use and how– Artaud: Cathartic experiences and interacting with the audience

– Stanislavsky: Naturalistic scenes to create a sense of realism

– Masked Republic: To create a sense of anonymity and eeriness in regards to the performance, show that anyone can be a victim

– Bertolt Brecht: Use of signs and didactic language to address the audience, while Brecht distances them we will be using it to immerse them and cause them to reflect on our performance

Different Types of Radicalization– IRA (Irish Republican Army who are an armed movement who dedicate themselves

to making Ireland an independent republic- local bombings and political violence of British Landmarks)

– ISIS (Radicalized movement that attack in the name of ‘Islam’ but are not to be associated with Islam or the Qur’an- merely breeders of hate)

– Taliban/Al Queada (An attack on America, 9/11! Most well-known terrorist attack)

– KKK & Neo Nazis – Trump as a stepping stone? (Racial hate and extremist views on the superior race)

– Black Panthers (Claimed to be extremists but they never actually commit any murders intentionally, just attacked infrastructure to raise awareness of their cause)

Links with Extremism and Islam?– To explore this we can have a press conference where a politician

or a press associate is blaming Islam for the crimes of extremist radicals and we will have our actors in the audience with questions to dismiss the claims- quoting parts of the Qur’an and stating that Islam promotes peace, not war.

– In addition to this, we will explore how people are brainwashed to think this is what the Qur’an is asking of them (raised in a world where what they are doing is right, taught to hate anyone that is not them.)

The KKK and Neo-Nazis and the attacks due to race and religion (Catholics and Jews)

– Black People (Lynching: link to Salem Witch Trial and then follow up to the idea of police brutality in regards to the black community)

– Jewish (Holocaust: Gas chambers and the effects)

– Attacks on Catholics (Beheading, stoning)

StagingA crucifix on stage, with heads or skulls hanging off- showing the effects of extremism on religious people and minorities.

On the wall images of religious symbols will be projected onto the wall. As the play progresses, they will crumble and be replaced by dripping blood.
