Bradbury Grange is a brand new residentialand dementia care home situated withinits own beautifully landscaped grounds inWhitstable, Kent. The location is a leafy,suburban setting, which ensures both quietsurroundings and a relaxed pace of life.
Here we provide care for 50 older people in a purpose-built environment, designedfor both your ease of access and comfort.Our dedicated, on-site staff team are thereto provide you with round the clock careand support.
Your Accommodation
As a resident, you’ll enjoy staying in yourown private single room, designed to makeyour life at Bradbury Grange a relaxing andcomfortable one. Bright and airy, yourroom comes complete with high-qualityfurnishings and is yours to personalise toyour own taste and make your own.
All rooms have modern en suite facilitiesand TV and telephone points, enabling youto relax and enjoy calls within the privacyof your own room.
We understand that choosing the rightcare environment is an important decision,and at MHA we care about your new homeas much as you do. Working with olderpeople for over 65 years, we have used ourexperience to develop a special service atBradbury Grange offering:

Your Care
We aim to give each individual person-centred care within a calm and relaxedenvironment. We encourage you to sharein the development of your own personalcare plan and we will organise dailyactivities to suit your personal interestsand abilities, to maintain life skills.
Your keyworker will spend time with you to develop your individual care plan andinform other staff about how you wish tospend your time. This way we can ensurethat we address all your personal needs.
Dementia Care – MHA recognises eachperson as a unique individual. By gettingto know the person and their life history,we aim to understand the meaning behindbehaviour and plan our care to reduce anyfrustration and improve well-being.
Most importantly we ensure each residentis treated with the dignity and respect thatwe all deserve.
The Care Team
Our Home Manager is a fully qualified professional who leads a team includinga deputy manager, team leaders, careassistants and support staff. All our staffare fully trained in MHA’s high-quality careand play a vital part in the creation of anatural, homely atmosphere withinBradbury Grange.
Meals and Refreshments
Our food is freshly prepared on site byhighly trained and experienced staff. Daily menus are prepared in consultationwith residents, and this enables us toprovide you with a tasty and interestingdiet. All of the catering staff are furthertrained in meeting any specialist dietaryrequirements as well as your ownindividual preferences.
We serve meals three times per day in our dining rooms, plus morning coffee with biscuits and afternoon tea.
Security and Peace of Mind
Help is always at hand with our emergencycall system. A call bell point is provided inevery room so that in an emergency thecare staff can come to your aid promptly –24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Ourexternal doors are all controlled by analarm, making the home secure and ourfire alarm is tested every week. Weregularly update staff on fire precautionsand procedures.
Social Facilities
Bradbury Grange has a large number ofresidents’ communal areas including aspacious lounge, tea bars, seating areasand a dining room. You’ll find all theseareas very sociable and popular meetingplaces for residents.
Health Care
As a resident of Bradbury Grange, you willhave access to the full spectrum of localhealth and medical services such as yourown GP, hospital appointments andcommunity nursing services. A chiropodist,an optician, an occupational therapist anda dentist all visit residents regularly. Allyou need to do is inform a member of ourcare team if you would like to make anappointment with one of these healthprofessionals.
Cleaning and Laundry
Our domestic assistants are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of thehome and will provide you with a thoroughroom cleaning service on a regular basis.
Our laundry facilities are fitted out tocommercial standards and your personalwashing will be carefully cleaned andreturned to you within 48 hours.

Whilst we always respect your privacy,Bradbury Grange has its own Social Care Co-ordinator who organises a completeschedule of activities for you to take partin if you wish. These include crafts, sing-alongs, physical fun, games -including our own version of carpet bowlsand coffee mornings. Outside musiciansand entertainers visit us, we have closelinks with a local school and we also liketo organise outings such as bus trips.
Community Facilities
Whitstable is a seaside town in northeastKent, approximately five miles north of thecity of Canterbury. The town is famous forits oysters, which have been collected inthe area since Roman times. This maritimeheritage is celebrated every summer at theannual oyster festival.
The Local attractions include the beautifulbeaches, harbour, castle and the Tower HillTea Gardens. Just speak with our care teamwho will be happy to advise you on all theplaces of interest that we may be able toarrange for you to visit, whilst beingsympathetic to your care needs.
The local post office, library, park andshops are all situated within the towncentre and a library van also visits thehome regularly.
In addition to our care staff and manyvolunteers, we have our own Chaplain whois available for pastoral support. Our Chaplain also organises worshipservices for those who wish to attend and can arrange for contact with otherreligious ministers if you prefer.
Visitors
Friends and family can visit you wheneverthey wish and are welcome to join you fora meal, for which we charge a small fee.
Where Are We?
From the West.Leave the M2 at junction 7 and proceed on the A299, Thanet Way. Take the slip road signposted A290, Canterbury and B2205, Whitstable. At the firstroundabout continue straight on and atthe second roundabout take the first exit for Whitstable.
Continue down Borstal Hill which willlead into Canterbury Road. Pass the petrolstation on the left and continue on alongthis road for approximately 300 yards. The entrance for Bradbury Grange will beto the left.
From the South/CanterburyProceed towards Whitstable on the A290.On reaching the first roundabout take the second exit. Continue on to the second roundabout and take the secondexit for Whitstable. Follow the directions in italics above.

MHA has been highly praisedfor excellent service by the Care QualityCommission, the Centre for Policy onAgeing and the Government’s AuditCommission. Spiritual Well-being
At MHA, we support each older person to live life in the way that they wish,providing opportunities for fulfilment.
We believe that spiritual well-being isdifferent for each individual. Religiousfaith, good relationships, and positiveexperiences all part their part. We see thebeneficial effects of visits by family andfriends, the presence of animals, and inenagement with nature, music, art or othercreative activities.
