Rackham’s Relationship with Academic Programs Underneath the Rackham umbrella are all Ph.D. programs, some M.A., M.S., and M.F.A. programs
and selected other graduate programs.
Every graduate student belongs to his/her own school or college in addition to the Rackham Graduate School.
Rackham’s primary missions are oversight of the academic quality of graduate education and support for graduate students.
All Rackham programs share common academic policies.
Rackham complements the services offered by individual departments and graduate programs by providing services:• Common admissions process• Funding to graduate programs to support graduate activity in your school/college• Funding for individual graduate students, such as conference travel and research grants,
fellowships, and emergency funds• Programs, professional development workshops, and social activities for
graduate students and postdocs.
