• Developing countries have suffered the most from global carbon emissions, and other environmental issues.

• In the United States, a very large number of environmental problems affect African Americans and lower-income communities.

• Black communities across the United States have suffered more from poor air quality to illegal waste dumping along with other environmental problems more than other groups.

• In a report by the Commission to Engage African Americans on Climate Change (CEAC), temperature increases are expected to be more extreme in urban areas, where Blacks are more than twice as likely to live than Whites.

• Currently African Americans spend an estimate 25 percent of their income on basic necessities like food, water, and energy, which is ore than most Americans.
