Alarm and Countermeasures
The operation panel has 15 alarms. These alarms are as follows:
1. High voltage limit alarm: Goes off when the voltage
exceeds –63 kV.
Countermeasures
HVL alarm is triggered mostly by arcing in the tube tower.
Find arcing mark and remove it with sand paper.
Check arcing mark on the target surface.
2. Low voltage limit alarm (HVL): Occurs when the voltage
exceeds –17 kV.
Countermeasures
Check the register between L and Ground C and Ground S
after removing the high voltage cable from the transformer.
Check the voltage at the kVMR.
3. Over load alarm (OLL): Occurs when too much current has
flowed in kV and mA.
Countermeasures
The OLL alarm occurs in the case of arcing in the tube tower
and on the target surface. This is the same as the HVL alarm.
52 RA-Micro 007 Service Manual
4. Filament current limit alarm: Occurs when 7.7 A of current
has flowed into the filament or when an open circuit occurs in
the filament.
Countermeasures
Check the resistance between L and C after removing the high
voltage cable at the transformer. The display should read
open.
5. Tube current limit alarm: Occurs when the current in the
tube exceeds 66 mA.
Countermeasures
This may cause arcing in the tube. Check the arcing mark in
the tube tower.
6. PSFLT alarm: The PSFLT alarm will be visible whenever the
following conditions occur:
• The fan rotation is abnormal (FAN).
• The inverter heat sink is over 60 deg (THERM).
• The fuse is burned out (FUSE).
• Arcing is detected when the power supply voltage is
below 170 V (UVL).
• The current flow exceeds 150 A in the inverter (LCL).
• A jumper occurs between the BIAS and the filament (BFS).
• Insulation below 30 kO registers between the BIAS and the
filament (BFS).
Countermeasures
Be sure about which alarm occurred in the high voltage
transformer.
RA-Micro 007 Service Manual 53
7. Target rotation limit alarm: Occurs when a rotation speed
of < 5700 rpm is reached.
Countermeasures
Check the T1 frequency. It must be 400 Hz.
The target rotation limit is 95% of the rotation speed.
SD circuit board (A 287-008).
TP-25 = input.
TP-24 = output of LM2917.
TP-9 = target rotation limit set point (95% of TP-24).
8. Cooling water flow alarm: Occurs when the water flow rate
is <3.5 liters/min.
Countermeasures
Check the cooling water flow line.
9. Cooling water pressure alarm: Occurs when the water
pressure is >0.34 Mpa.
Countermeasures
Check the cooling water flow line.
10. Cooling water temperature alarm: Occurs when the
temperatures in the water line is over the set point.
Countermeasures
Check the cooling water flow line.
54 RA-Micro 007 Service Manual
11. Vacuum alarm: Occurs when the pressure in the tube tower
exceeds 1 x 10 –2 Pa and the X-ray shuts off.
Countermeasures
Check the filament in the RIG and check for leaking from the
tube tower.
12. TMP overload alarm: When an overload occurs in the TMP
driver or an abnormal temperature occurs in the TMP.
Countermeasures
• Check the TMP rotation by hand.
• Check for leaking in the tube tower.
• Listen for a “strange” sound.
13. X-ray warning lamp alarm: Occurs when a short circuit
takes place in the X-ray warning lamp.
Countermeasures
Check the connection at the connector. This alarm is indicated
by an LED display.
14. Operation panel X-ray lamp alarm: Occurs when the
operation panel is open or when a short circuit takes place in
the X-ray lamp of the panel.
Countermeasures
Check whether the X-ray lamp is ON. The X-ray ON is
indicated by an LED display.
15. Cooling water leakage alarm: Occurs when a water leak is
detected. This is an optional function not included in the
standard options.
