BALLOONS

The Perfect Baby!

Karen and our Belgian dealer Koen first met each other at the annual

Barneveld Balloon Fiesta some years ago. Karen was working as a

volunteer bringing passengers from the VIP-terrace to the balloon baskets,

and one thing led to another…they fell in love.

Earlier this year, on 26th April, Karen gave birth to a little girl called Lente.

Her name is the Dutch word for ‘spring’.

To celebrate Lente’s arrival, and to share their

happiness with everybody, Karen and Koen

designed a special Cameron Z-120 balloon

- a beautiful baby! The newly extended

family will be travelling with their new

baby balloon to festivals around the

world and the balloon will make its very

first flight at the Barneveld Balloon

Fiesta on 17th August 2016; which is also

very symbolic to Karen and Koen, as they

can celebrate an important anniversary, the

balloon meet where they first met!

Superlight O-90 just 73kg

Museum of the Moon is a new touring artwork by artist Luke Jerram.

Measuring seven metres in diameter, the inflated moon features

detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale

of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture

represents about 5km of the moon’s surface.

Over its lifetime, the Museum of the Moon will be presented in a

number of different ways both indoors and outdoors, so altering the

experience and interpretation of Luke’s artwork. “As it travels from

place to place, it will gather new musical compositions and an ongoing

collection of personal responses, stories and mythologies, as well as

highlighting the latest moon science”, Luke explains.

The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and a surround sound

composition, created by the BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones.
