I run out the door of the orphanage as the ward yells at me to come back inside. I just ignore the hag and continue my run. Tears f low down my face as I turn the corner and see the only park bench decorated with shrubs. I curl up into a litt le ball and start sobbing into my knees. Those girls at the orphanage can be so mean about what happened to my family. I close my eyes and imagine the scene. My parents? bodies spread across the pavement, my litt le brother, Robbie, trying to gasp for air as a piece of the car lays on him. My legs covered in blood and the other car we crashed into that warm, spring evening. I was the only one that survived that night and I regret it so much. Robbie should have lived.

My parents should have lived. Living in this world without a family is the worst experience ever. A snap from a tree branch makes me pop my head up from my body. My eyes meet a hazel-eyed blondie a couple feet away from me. I look at him as he starts to walk closer. I stare at his tall f igure. He?s wearing torn up jeans with a white shirt and low beanie. I quickly cover my face with my knit cardigan hoping he won?t come any closer. I feel someone lay a hand on my shoulder. I jump and push the person away. Shaking, I slowly look up

?Go away,? I tell him off as I turn my body away from him.

?Why are you crying? What?s wrong?? He asks. I turn to him with tears in my eyes replying,

?Why would you care? No one cares about me. Please leave me alone!? I snap.

His eyes are in shock and he looks a litt le taken back at the sound of me screaming at him. He sits next to me and wraps an arm around me. I try to push him away, but he grips onto me. After a minute or two of trying to get out of his hold, I turn into his crisp white t-shirt and cry.

?Shh? it?s okay. What?s your name? Mine?s Ross.? He tells me.

I look up from his chest. ?Lucia, my name is Lucia.? He smiles down at me.

?That?s a very pretty name, Lucia.? Ross complements. I give him a half smile stil l wondering if I should just the blond haired boy with the surfer body. I sit up from him and try to wipe off the

running mascara from my puffy eyes with my cardigan.

?Where?s your family?? He asks.

Did he really just ask that? He brought up my family; the family I was just crying about l iterally two seconds ago. I mean it?s not his fault I never really did answer that question he asked me or really the f irst one too.

?My family died in a car crash,? I tell bluntly. His eyes turn from a protective to caring in matter of mill iseconds.

?I?m so sorry. I shouldn?t have asked that. Was that why you were crying?? He asks.

I nod a litt le. ?So you live in an orphanage then?? He questions me like a FBI agent. I repeat my litt le nod. He sighs.

?Do you wanna meet my family? We came to park to just get away from our busy lives,? Ross asks.

I perk up just as I hear ?meet? and ?family?. I nod my head quickly. He helps me up from the park bench and we start to walk to a litt le f ield with tall blonde and

wanna play some football with us?? I nod and we all run onto the small open f ield.

After a couple plays, I sit down on the grass and just watch them play. I wish I had this family. They seem so positive and happy around each other. I just want that in my life right now. Ross looks over at me and runs towards me. He sits down next to me with sweat dripping down his face with no beanie on anymore.

?You okay?? He asks trying to catch his breath.

?Yeah. I just wish I had a family l ike yours. The orphanage is okay, but having a real family l ike what you have is amazing.? I tell him truthfully.

?Well how would you like to join that family?? He asks.

?Oh my gosh! Yes! I would love to!? I hug his sweaty body and think I?m going to be a part of his family!

?Well, drawing is a big thing I l ike to do because we can?t have any technology around us in our rooms. Writing and reading is fun, but I don?t really do those activit ies that often,? I reply while pushing some hair behind my ear.

?I love drawing too! Music is a big thing that my family and I love to do. We are actually in a band called R5.? He says.

Wait? I know who R5 is. ?Oh my gosh! You?re Ross Lynch! I knew it! I know your family already. I?m a fan.? He smiles at the fact that I?m a fan.

?Hey guys! Come over here! I want you to meet someone!? Ross yells.

His family runs over to us. ?This is Lucia. She?s from the orphanage down the street and she?s a fan of us.?
