Why recruit our students and graduates?Real World graduatesWe have close links with industry, demonstrated by our relevant teaching and applied research. With our practical approach, our students become highly sought-after graduates ready to make an impact in their chosen fields.

Connecting with our students while they’re studying doesn’t have to be difficult. Our flagship programs allow you to engage with QUT’s best and brightest and have a significant impact on their learning and preparation for the real world.

Work Integrated LearningWork Integrated Learning (WIL) formally connects students with industry as part of their course, integrating knowledge and skills with professional and contemporary practice. You can engage with WIL by providing opportunities for students to undertake internships, practicums, work placements or projects. In return for your organisation providing a Work Integrated Learning opportunity, our students can deliver a fresh perspective, new skills and innovative solutions. You’ll also have the opportunity to promote your organisation and profile future graduates.

Real World Placement ProgramThe Real World Placement Program (RWPP) provides an avenue for organisations to offer paid or unpaid work experience opportunities to high-achieving students outside of their course requirements. The program ensures that participating students are ‘work-ready’, giving them the tools to successfully contribute to your organisation. Placement Facilitators are also available to provide support to host organisations and students at any stage of the program.

Career Mentor SchemeThe Career Mentor Scheme matches QUT students with mentors – industry professionals who can provide one-on-one support, encouragement and guidance as the student transitions from study to the workforce. Participation in the Career Mentor Scheme can be on an individual or organisational basis, and many organisations also consider the scheme to be effective professional development for their own in-house talent. By supporting students at this critical time, you’ll improve their career prospects and maximise interest and engagement in your graduate employment opportunities.

We have hosted Accounting, Applied Finance and Human Resources students at Moore Stephens, where they learn the day-to-day workings of the firm and have opportunities to assist the team and get involved in exciting projects. Following their placements, several students have taken on paid employment with Moore Stephens while they complete their studies, moving into Graduate positions upon finishing their studies, and then continuing to progress their professional careers with us. This allows us to find and recruit exceptional students, and staff really enjoy the opportunity to mentor, teach and support new talent.Andrea Howse, Moore Stephens

The day our QUT student started in the team was the day we rediscovered our sense of humour. She has brought life back to the office after a grim few months working with inadequate resources, and by bringing her fresh, motivated and unique working style to the team, has greatly improved our working environment. The only sad aspect is knowing that we can’t keep her forever but, knowing the quality of students available, we will certainly be continuing to engage with QUT.Libby Scheinpflug, Anglican Diocese of Brisbane
