Say, [O Muhammad], “If you truly love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful” [Qur’an, 3:31]

It is lovely to reflect on how well our students have settled into the school in October. Below are the highlights of the month of October that we’d like to share with you.

NGS Kidpreneurs are Back in BusinessOur Kidpreneurs are submitting their business plans and will be back business for their first appearance at the NGS store in October. The Kidprenuership program is part of our Classroom Economy System that teaches children the basis of financial responsibility in a fun, real-life and interactive way.

NGS Library introduces Makerspace to enhance 21st century skills A Library is all about acquiring knowledge, and to keep up with the 21st century, acquiring knowledge is not through reading only, it is through tinkering, designing, creating, and testing. That’s why we at NGS, would like to introduce Makerspace, a modern extension to our elementary library. Students in grades 3 - 6 will alternate between Makerspace and Library every week.

Social Skills Through Counseling NGS Counseling team creates counseling sessions, where the school counselors meet each class to teach topics such as feelings, friendship, and conflict resolution. NGS counseling program provides the foundation for personal growth as students’ progress through school years. We work with students through classroom guidance lessons, small groups, and on individual basis.

NGS Library Builds New system That Allows students to access over 8000 books Our state of the art library is in the final stages of implementing a new library system which will allow students to check in/out any books from our wide collection of 8000 English & Arabic books that cover all topics of interest.

NGS Football Players sign contracts with salaries To motivate our football stars at NGS, our team’s coach collaborated internally with the life skills coordinator to allow the team players to go from amateurs to professionals. NGS will sign professional contracts with the players where they’ll agree on a salary. We will be the first school in the UAE to pay our football team players a salary which will be given to students in the schools’ currency “NGEES”. The signing will take place end of October and will be covered by Alkhaleej Times Newspaper.

NGS Electives going above and beyond this year After last years’ success with our elective classes, this year we added even more electives to allow a wider range of talent development. The electives open this year are (Robotics, Art, Swimming, Ice-Skating, Martial Arts, Football and Gymnastics)

Following the theme of the month, our islamic department will prepare a speech for the students on the importance of Loving Allah & His Messenger and its impact on our lives.

In collaboration with our art department kids will unleash their creativity to create the craziest hats to wear on Crazy Hat Day at NGS. We will put a grand prize of 500 NGEES for the best hat and 9 other prizes of 200 NGEES.
