So… I hear there are rumors
going around that there is going to
be a school play. Well, what I am
about to tell you is going to blow
your eyeballs out and make you
scream: those rumors are right!
The exploratory class will be per-
forming a play written by students
in that class. Our little production
will be ready within the next
months. The play is about ancient
Greek gods stuck in the 21st cen-
tury. We will be playing only the
major Greek gods AND we are
going to be putting this play to-
gether by ourselves. I'm not going
to list the names of the people
playing these gods– but I will name
the gods/goddesses. There is
Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Aphro-
dite, Demeter, Apollo, Hephaes-
tus, Athena, Hera, Hestia, and
Ares. We hope you enjoy our
performance– it’s coming out
soon! For more updates on the
school play, check the school
paper in the future. -Written by

“Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels.
The troublemakers. The
round pegs in the square
holes. The ones who see
things differently. They're
not fond of rules. And they
have no respect for the
status quo. You can quote
them, disagree with them,
glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you
can't do is ignore them.
Because they change
things. They push the
human race forward. And
while some may see them
as the crazy ones, we see
genius. Because the peo-
ple who are crazy enough
to think they can change
the world, are the ones
who do.”

Why not to . . . Try being clever. Why not, you ask? Because you’re not clever. Tell-ing clever jokes you looked up online doesn’t change that. Neither does writing “I’m clever” on the board, or making it pop up every time you type ‘and’. Trying to be clever anonymously makes you annoying, and trying to be clever openly makes you a subject of ridicule. Don’t try to use your wit. Save your shrewd cunning for when you know how to use it. It’s much easier to induce laughter than admiration at craftiness. Be funny, and save face. You aren’t yet able to receive praise for your astuteness.
Why not to . . . Frown when displeased. You’ve for-gotten your lunch and your homework in the car, it’s pouring rain and you’ve got to walk home, your teacher assigns thirty-five problems, and you want nothing better than to scowl at the world to show your displeasure. But did you know that
of the tyrannosaurus.

Pangea is a lie because the “evidence” is from aliens. An alien was tricking future humans into believing in Pangea. First he/she cut land masses into pieces that look like they once fit. Next, the life form put rock molds on the edges of land to make it look like the land was once together. The fossils were transported from place to place. On a trip the alien crashed in the Baltic Ocean leaving its ship behind. This ship was left behind because the self-destruct malfunctioned and left the ship whole… Random Fact: The alien also brought all animals except the chicken, a direct cousin

frowning actually makes you feel worse? In the human body, frowning can create nega-tive emotions just as much as negative emotions can create frowning. Similarly, smiling will actually make you feel happier, even if the day so far has been glum. Be-sides, if you get smile wrinkles, people will think you’re happier, thus easier to be around. It’s a well-known myth that it takes less muscles to smile than to frown, and even though the fact might not be correct, the intention is. SMILE!

Macbeth Play Performance Dakota Brown, Veronica Tobel,
Sarah Gardner, Luke Massengill,
and last but not least, Noah
Moody came to our school to
share the wonders of Shake-
speare’s Macbeth with us. The
actors/actresses used modern-day
props such as ladders, umbrellas,
and even cellphones! These props
made the audience all the more
attentive, in my personal opinion.
Not often do you see older sto-
ries kicked into a frame of a new,
modern perspective.
The theme they accomplished
comes with an extravagant plot
line. Macbeth hears a prophecy
from three demon-witch sis-
ters, all of which claim him to
become owner of great titles:
Thane of Cawdor, Thane of
Glamis, and finally, king. His
wife helps him kill off people
who get in their way, which
adds to the suspense of her
mental stability.
When Banquo was killed,
he came into play as a different
character within minutes, due
to the small amount of actors.
I think this stimulated our
brains into thought, along with
their fabulous use of steam
punk! Hoods gently lead a
sense of dread into mind, while
props of goggles left a sense of
sight in the eyes. The show was
well-
produced
and put
together.

Speak-ing of beavers,
there actually are some who are abandoned and sad. They live in the piping system of the bath-rooms. For some reason they don’t use pencils for anything.
Some say I am just crazy and take them for myself. Well, they are way out of line accusing me! I’m extremely lucky I’m here today to tell you my amaz-ing adventures… I was almost eaten by this. I got this snapshot and LIVED!

Students all over the school have been wondering where their pencils have gone, so I went on an adventure and found many different options of where they’ve disap-peared to. Apparently, a group of dwarven trolls took them for their fortress. The trolls are currently living in the back of the school eating flowers.
WARNING: Do NOT disturb them, they are very aggres-sive, and I had to watch them from a long distance with the use of binoculars for this info. In fact, a rogue backpack has been taking them for his assignments. The assignments somehow are created
from his friends, the leprechauns, who live in the wall eating tar and fake gold. I decided to ask them about my discoveries, but they said they didn’t know what a pencil was. So I spied on them and found that they were making small bonfires out of the pencils. They were performing dark rituals with the fire. Those little hatted liars almost had me fooled, and yet I out brained them!
I talked to some kid later that day, and he said that people are lazy and just leave them in random places. Yeah right! I’m guessing he is just taking them and eating them, that little beaver!

Valentine’s Day Dance On February 10th, 2012, from
7:00pm until 10:00pm kids from
Anser, Sage and Foothills were
enjoying themselves during an
awesome dance filled with pop-
rap and dub-step music. There
was a photo booth available, and
the first photo was free. Any
others would cost $2.00 per pho-
to. The dance was semi-formal.
It’s a good time for slime (especially because Easter falls on April Fools’ Day). Use this craft for a prank or just for fun.
Recipe #1 Materials 3/4 Cup of warm water, 1 Cup of white glue, Food coloring of your choice 4 Teaspoons of borax Instructions
1. Mix together 3/4 cup of warm water, 1 cup of white glue, and a few drops of food coloring.
2. In another bowl, combine 4 teaspoons of borax and 1-1/3 cups of warm water.
3. Pour the contents of the first bowl into the second and let it sit for 1 minute without stirring.
Recipe #2 Materials: Borax powder, Water, 4 Ounces of glue Teaspoon, Bowl, Jar or measuring cup, Food coloring , Measuring cup
1. Pour the glue into the jar. If you
have a big bottle of glue, you want 4 oz
or 1/2 cup of glue.
2. Fill the empty glue bottle with water
and stir it into the glue (or add 1/2 cup
of water). If desired, add food coloring.
Otherwise, the slime will be an opaque
white.
3. In a separate bowl, mix one cup of
water into the bowl and add 1 tea-
spoon of borax powder.
4. Slowly stir the glue mixture into the
bowl of borax solution.
5. Store in fridge.

THE SPITTING COBRA:
The spitting cobra stays back and fights instead of attacking. This will help it protect itself. The
venom is aimed at the eyes. The problem is the brown snakes’ eyes are on the side of its
head. It will have to be fast against the brown snake. This fight is good but one will come out
on top. Which one will come on top is the question. Vote for the cobra
Written by Zach
THE EASTERN BROWN SNAKE:
This snake is the most venomous snake, but has a poor attack. Because it is a big snake, it is slow in
attacking. When it goes up against the spitting cobra it will need to be controlled with trying to bite it. The
thing it will mostly use is its length because of the spitting of the cobra it will stand far away. Vote for
the brown snake
Eastern Brown Snake Vs. The Spitting Cobra
The admission fee was $5.00,
but if you brought food you could
come for free. The dance was for
6-9th graders and was held at
Foothills School.
