Superintendent’s Goal #2:

Improvement of Performance,

Effectiveness, and Learning(2015-16 Goal)

In order to meet the needs of all learners, it is the goal of the

Superintendent that achievement at every MCAS tested

grade will demonstrate a 1% increase in the average percent

correct in ELA, Mathematics, and Science by all tested

students and this will have a corresponding increase in the

percentage of students who achieve Proficient or higher

performance levels on the Spring 2016 MCAS.

Working with the Principals, the Superintendent will determine

specific areas to focus improvements on, by site, to

accelerate and sustain achievement while reducing the

performance gap between subgroups and their grade-level

peers. (Instructional Leadership)

Scheduling ~ Quincy Public Schools continues its implementation

plan and is currently focusing on the various scheduling toolsAspen provides in preparing for the 2015-2016 school year.

Teachers are currently completing Online Course Request

Recommendations for grades 8-11 utilizing their Aspen Gradebook. Teachers will have the ability to communicate

utilizing the “Notes Section” attached to their recommendation

for parents and/or the student’s guidance counselor. Following

the teacher recommendation period, the Aspen Student Portal

will be open for Student Online Course Requests (March 23 – April 6) during which students will have the opportunity to view the

teacher recommendations. Students can then select an elective

or Foreign Language and/or request a modification to any core

academic recommendation.
