QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE NASDAQ OMX Index Licensing Online System

The NASDAQ OMX Index Licensing System is a user-friendly platform designed to streamline the licensing

process, allowing for quick license of the entire family of NASDAQ OMX indexes. The new system also

allows customers the ability to communicate directly with the NASDAQ OMX licensing team and access all

of their company’s current and historical information at any time.

1. Register/Obtaining a User ID

Click on the “Register with the NASDAQ OMX Index Licensing Online System” button and complete the requested

information. Upon completion, you will receive two emails, one with your temporary password and the second with

log-in information and contact information for NASDAQ OMX Index Licensing.

2. New License Request

To initiate a new license request, simply log on to the system, launch the dashboard and click the “New Application”

tab on the left navigation bar.

Next, select the type of license and index(es) and trademarks for your license request. Then assign a name to the

license, e.g. “Customer XXX NASDAQ-100 ETF” and enter the Legal Contact, which is the individual at your firm who

will be responsible for handling all legal matters pertaining to this license agreement. If this is a new contact, you may

add the person by clicking on the “Add New” text. Lastly, you must enter the Business Contact. This person will

receive correspondence from the NASDAQ OMX Index Licensing Team regarding the status of the license. After you

have fully completed and reviewed the information, click the “Submit” button.

3. Add Product to License Agreement

First, open the applicable license agreement, e.g. “Asset Based Agreement for the NASDAQ-100.” Then, scroll down to

the “Product Information” area. Select the relevant product type and fill in the appropriate information relating to the

product type. See the example below for an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF). Please note, you must enter the name of the

person responsible for your firm’s billing in order for your product to be processed for review.

When finished, click “Save New Product.” The screen will automatically refresh. If you do not need to make any

further changes, click “Submit to Licensing.” You must click “Submit to Licensing” in order for your product to be

considered for approval. You will then see your product listed by name in the product box in the lower left-hand

corner of the screen. You may continue to enter additional products related to the same license by following the

above instructions.

4. Submit Documents to Licensing Administration

Click on “Upload Docs/Data” from the left navigation bar to submit documents pertaining to license agreements or

products. Follow the process below for uploading both licensing agreements and documents or data specific to a

product (e.g. Term Sheets).

License Agreement If you wish to submit documents pertaining to a license agreement, select the relevant license agreement in the

drop-down menu. You may also provide additional comments in the field provided. To upload a file, click on the

“Browse” button. Navigate to the location of the file, and when you are ready to submit the document, click on the

“Upload” button. The uploaded file will appear in the box below the comments field with a “Pending” assignment in

the Doc Status column. You will also receive a confirmation email. When Licensing Administration approves or rejects

the document, the Doc Status will change accordingly and an email will be sent to your firm’s business contact and

originator of the license application.

5. Add or Edit Contacts

To add a contact, click on “Manage Contacts” on the left navigation bar and specify “Add New” in the “Select or Create

Contact” field . After entering the required information, save the entry by clicking on the “Add New” button in the

bottom right corner. Your contact will be added to the list.

To edit an existing contact, select the contact’s name from the drop-down list. The selected contact’s information will

automatically populate the form. Edit the information as necessary and click on the “Update” button in the lower

right corner. The contact changes will be saved.

6. Add or Change Team Members

To allow another person(s) in your organization the ability to view and make changes to your licenses, products

and/or upload documents or data, that person(s) must be a user team member. To add a user to your team, the

individual must first be listed as a contact. Then, select them from the list of organization users (see the image below)

and click on “Add.” The selected user will then be added to the “User Team Members” box. To remove a user, simply

highlight the user name and click “Remove.”

7. Submit Asset Information

Please follow the same instructions outlined in Section 4, “Submit Documents to Licensing Administration.” Make

sure the product whose assets you are submitting is highlighted.
