IntroductionPAEPARD aims at building joint African-European multi-stakeholder partnerships in agricultural research for development (ARD). It uses an online discussion platform called ‘Dgroups’ to create communities of practice where members come together voluntarily to share and develop their knowledge, solve common problems and support each other in finding answers. Discussions can be ad hoc, however PAEPARD is using Dgroups mainly for information dissemination on ARD events, reports and funding opportunities. To be a member of PAEPARD you need to be registered in our Dgroups community: https://dgroups.org/paepard/ This guide is to help new users set up and use their Dgroups account so that they can receive news and updates from the network and be actively involved in online discussions.Your can find out more about PAEPARD at: www.paepard.org

Top Tips1. To post a query click on ‘Start Discussion’, however:2. During moderated E-discussions, reply to previous
Facilitator posts, don’t start a new discussion thread. That way it is easier for readers to follow the debate.
3. Use rules in your email application to automatically put Dgroups emails in a separate folder to keep your Inbox clean.
4. When replying by email to a discussion make sure the ‘Subject’ text is the same so that your message is added to the thread
5. If you delete the emails, you can always find the messages in the discussion area of the website (See E)
