QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE GENRE?

• This was the first question in my questionnaire. I asked what genre my target market would prefer. Although horror was the most favourite genre, me and my partner have chosen to do a thriller genre, however, we have a lot of horror conventions within our film which makes horror a sub genre to our thriller genre short film.

HOW DO YOU ACCESS YOUR MEDIA TEXTS?

• According to my results from my questionnaire, everyone I asked got their media texts from online. This is the easiest method to do so and it is quick so if I had the chance to sell my film, I will do it online so that we target a bigger audience and so that it is easily accessible. If the short film was good enough, we may put it out on DVD as this will attract viewers too and we will make money from it.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THRILLER SHORT FILM?• There were 2 favourites for the

short film and both me and my partner analysed both films so we have a good idea on how both films work through mise en scene. This will help us when we actually shoot the film as we will know how to use the camera to its full effect.

• We will base out short film on these ideas but only through the mise en scene as our storyline is different.

WHAT CHARACTERS DO YOU EXPECT IN A SHORT FILM?

• This was my first open question asking my audience what kind of characters they expect in a thriller short film. I asked the closed question because this makes the audience think about it and I can relate my character to their opinion of a character so that it matches their expectations.

WOULD YOU EXPECT A TWIST IN A THRILLER SHORT FILM?

• Everyone asked would expect a twist in a thriller short film which is good because we have included a twist in our short film. However, this could be bad because they may expect the twist which will kill off the whole surprise we are giving off.

• This will just mean that we have to film it to perfection so no one expects the twist.
