Analysis of the Results

• We passed the questionnaires to our age group (17 year olds) and the two years below at an equal number (10 of each year). We decided on these ages as they are at the age that they can give mature feedback that we can use and in the age group for our target audience. • From the results of the questionnaire nearly every one of them watch music videos. From this they were asked how often they watch music videos, the top answer was ‘Once a week’ followed by ‘Everyday’.

From the results of the questionnaire, we have found that most of the people watch music videos on the internet, this is probably because most of our age group use the internet frequently due to social networking sites, video sharing sites like YouTube and for school work. This would mean that we may have to make our video high quality to work on YouTube and the internet if we were to publish the music video.

From our analysis, we have seen that most of the subjects favourite genre of music is ‘Pop’. The song we are using for our music video is a pop song so would appeal to the wider audience rather than a niche audience.

From this graph, you can see that the majority preferred a music video to be narrative rather than performance. This means that our music video will appeal as the main style is narrative with a little bit of performance.

From the results, it is clear that most of the people who have taken part in the survey new the song ‘yellow’ by Coldplay. This shows that the song is a well known and popular song. This means that the music for the music video will be known which means it will be easier for the audience to understand.
