    Question Answer Tips

    What happenswhen

    the duct gets dirty?

The duct system is dismantled andwashed in a washing machine.

    Please refer to our standard

    maintenance instructions.

The washing frequency is reduced by using properly engineeredpre-filters upstream of the duct.

If in doubt, please consult one of our engineers for advice.

    Will the coloursfade?

No. The colours will not fade duringordinary use in normal applications.

A fabric dispersion system should not be exposed to directsunlight or unusual chemical vapours.

If in doubt, please consult one of our engineers for advice.

    Can the duct catchfire?

No. The fabrics used in the variousfabric dispersion systems areclassified as flame retardant or

    normally combustible.

Further details on fire classifications are found in our technicaldocumentation.

    Does a fabric ductgenerate noise?

Fabric is neutral in terms of noise. This means that the fabric itself

does not generate or convey noise.

Always place a proper silencer between the fan and the duct toreduce the risk of mechanical noise generated by the system or

    the sound of rushing air.

    What aboutdraughts?

Well engineered fabric ducts do notcreate draughts in offices, loungesor workspaces.

Every dimensioning should always be verified before productionby a FabricAir engineer.

    What do the ductfabrics weigh?

At FabricAir, we do not useunnecessarily heavy fabrics. All ourstandard fabrics weigh less than 300g/m.

Choose lightweight fabrics wherever possible. Maintenance costsare based on weight: as a result, heavy ducts mean higherservice costs.

How easy is it toinstall this type ofduct?

Installation is quick and easy. Thesystem can also be installed byunskilled labour.

This saves up to 75% on labour, compared to sheet metal ducts.

    How long will itlast?

Under ordinary operation andmaintenance, FabricAirDispersionSystems can last 15 years or more. Some of our systems are still inoperation after 30 years.

Proper maintenance and care extends the service life of thefabric system. FabricAirrecommends that you enter into aservice agreement wherever possible.

    What aboutquality?

FabricAir is an UL-registered firmand is certified pursuant to ISO9001:2000. FabricAir usesUnderwriters Laboratories (UL) toaudit our quality system.

If in doubt, please request our current Certificate of Compliance.
