Target AudienceThe audience for our media product would be males, aged 15-21. They are interested in violence, gore and action. They don’t specifically have a job but could be in school/college/university. They enjoy taking risks and being daring and love to have an adrenaline rush. They are most likely to live in socio demographic groups of C2/D. They live a relaxed and laid back lifestyle but never fail to bring out their risky and daring side to them. They have a lively social life and have many friends and are interested in high rated technology such as iPhones, iPads, Xbox, PS3 etc. Most likely to be intrigued by violent video games and high rated TV programs.

RatingsUsing the BBFC I know that our film would be rated in the 15 section. It states that at 15 there can be strong threat and horror as long as there is no sustained focus on sadistic or sexualised threat. In which our film involves strong horror but not to the extreme it involves rape or sexual activity that is only for violence use. We decided that it wouldn’t be too gory and use extreme horror so that it would have to be rated an 18, we wanted it to appeal to middle aged teenagers.

AudiencesThis would be our audience because they would have to be over the age of 15 which is why we set it around 15 – 21. It is aimed at males because stereotypically horror films are directed to them because of the violent and gore content. Males generally have a stronger mindset than girls; they can take upsetting or distressing scenes better than females and containing their emotions.

Similar horror films that our target audience would enjoy to watch and or pay to see would be Sinister, Insidious, Carrie, Paranormal Activity, Evil dead, You’re Next, The Cabin in The Woods etc.
