During the Construction process, my group and I used little media technology initially and began storyboarding and creating ideas with pencil and paper.

This proved useful as we were able to position everything ideally, and could erase any errors that we made.

As with our ancillary task, we were constantly drawing ideas and scanning them into the computer to place on our blogs.

We could have used ICT to complete these prototypes but sometimes you cannot position the font ideally at first, and it is more organized to have a rough piece of paper to base your idea around.

Filming Process

Through using the camera and tripods last year, myself and my group found it easy to work with the cameras enabling smooth transitions and camera shots.

Every day we carried the tripod and the camera waiting for the weather to improve as we braved wind, snow and rain. The cameras quality was exceptional and created picture perfect quality for our video.

The only difficulty we faced with the camera was when we attempted to do moving shots; the tripod doesn’t have that function to swivel around. We therefore had to attempt extremely careful hand movements which in the end were successful.

Editing

The Apple Macs we used were amazing for the use of editing and quick uploading of videos.

As we had to face ever changing weather we then had the opportunity to edit pieces of footage we had already filmed. It was useful to have all the different functions that enable organization and clarity to work with.

The transitions and effects on the Apple Macs are what enabled us to create a realistic creation of a music video, as we used fade to black throughout to clarify that is was the changing of scene. Using the movie function gave us the opportunity also to delete footage we didn’t want to use, and also spot areas where we could re-film.

Slide Share

Windows Movie Maker

During my blog, I wanted to use different media formats so that I was using all sorts of technology to project my ideas. Slide share enables Microsoft files to be placed onto blogs in a way that you can zoom in and zoom out, to read it perfectly.

I found the use of this website simple to use, and an organised and efficient way to show my ideas onto my blog with print screening over and over again. I would thoroughly recommend this for any media student.

You can preview your video before you publish it, which is just like the editing process used on the Macs that I have adjusted to.

You Tube

I used this programme when I was sorting out information within my blog, such as behind the scenes footage. Also, I used this programme during my evaluation for looking at the success of the ancillary tasks and the music video.

Whilst organizing your video is easy, the hardest part about using this programme is you have to time each section of your video perfectly if you are using it for dialogue and images.

The most convenient aspect of this programme is you can automatically download it to You Tube, which is where I convert my files to place on my blog.

This was quick from the windows movie maker, and also enabled that if any of my group needed to see any footage I had used, then I could send them the link and they could view the video through You Tube.

The reason I used You Tube as my format of choice was, everything that I produced I placed onto my blog and with videos holding so much memory I wanted to keep them stored into my You Tube account meaning I could access them from any computer.

The picture quality being a good standard was important also as I had to confirm that an examiner could read the text without any difficulty.

This photo organizing website is where I kept every image that I used within my blog. It was important for me that I knew where everything I was putting on my blog had a duplicate in case of any computer mishaps.

Being able to access this website and my account from any computer was important as I could update my images and my blog from anywhere ensuring that I was up to date with all my additions and information on my blog.

This seemed easier to me than directly putting my pictures onto the blog through blogger, as I could receive the HTML which I placed in the edit only section of the blogging website, meaning I could position the image anywhere on the page without any hassle.
