ABOUT BAUER MEDIABauer media is a multinational company with multi-platform brands and is Europe’s largest privately-owned media group, operating in 19 countries with over 25 million consumers. Bauer published over 600 magazines. It also owns Radio Stations (Such as Absolute Radio, KISS and Magic in the UK) and TV stations through the Box Plus Network (A business venture with Channel 4) world wide. Bauer Media is also a market leader in publishing music magazines, their 3 biggest being ‘Mojo’, ‘Q’ and ‘Kerrang!’. For publishing my media product, I will use Bauer media. This is because they already publish 2 music magazines, Mojo and Q.

For publishing my media product, I will use Bauer media. This is because they already publish 2 music magazines, Mojo and Q, which shows they will have important experience in publishing music magazines. In addition, my music magazine offers a genre they don’t currently produce in their current titles. Q is quite general whilst Mojo is rock. My music magazine is indie rock, this means it would fit in well with their existing titles as it is a different genre, as a result it will stand out from the other music magazines. This would be beneficial for them as it won’t be in direct competition with their current titles and as such will bring them extra revenue.

My media product will be sold in supermarkets as this is where the majority of magazine sales take place, such as Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Co Operative. I will sell it to newsagents such as WH Smith and music shops such as HMV. I will sell to online subscription sites such as isubscribe, magazine.co.uk and greatmagazines. I will also sell my magazine at indie rock gigs, for example a gig for the Arctic Monkeys, because my target market is there. This will grow the magazine brand to my target audience and means I am likely to sell the magazine.
