3. WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?

Page 2: Question 3

INSTITUTION… As our film was a documentary it most definitely a independent film looking

for a more independent distributor. Documentaries aren’t out to make money they are out to inform and

spread a message or provide opinion. So they are niche, heard mostly by word of mouth, make you think and ask questions and are more about art or culture. These are the makings of any classic indie film.

Our documentary would require an independent distributor, most definitely not one of the “Big Six” which are for more Mainstream Films or “Blockbusters”.

WE CHOSE… Soda Pictures (a Thunderbird Company)

because they support indie cinema and they had been a part of one of the documentaries we researched Teenage (Dir. Matt Wolf).

Soda Pictures has been known to work with indie producers so they will fit well with our company of The Documentary Producers.

They believe in the three E's...Experience. Expertise. Excellence. They believe in first time filmmakers and documenting major parts of history.

Soda and The Doc. Prod. come up at the beginning of our opening sequence.

DISTRIBUTION The documentary would be distributed in cinema

only in Britain, and only to small cinema who usually show indie films for a short space of time to minimise costs and hopefully to get enough word out there about the documentary.

Also the film would be distributed online (so internationally online) through Soda Pictures website where people can buy and download the Documentary to watch.

Of course the film will be available to buy on the website of Tatted Generation also.
