QUESTION 2KATIE BANNER
EVALUATION
INITIAL VIDEO OF MY QUESTION 2 RESPONSE
HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT REPRESENT
PARTICULAR SOCIAL
GROUPS?
*COVER*
A rugged, distressed font used for the
masthead was thought out thoroughly to
represent the rockers social group because
it makes the overall theme of the music
magazine seem rock based and highlights
the musical vibe.
The choice to include an all-male band on
my cover (each holding an instrument
relevant to them) further increases the
relevance to the musicians in any music
magazine audience. The instruments
apparent were chosen by the band which
represents how the overall image would be
perceived because the choice has been
made from people within the stereotypical
musical, young adults social groups.

*CONTENTS*The Polaroid effect on the top two images on my contents page represent those of the indie social group, reflective of the stereotypical indie and vintage genre. It is also representative of those from the younger generation because they have been constructed using new media software’s such as Photoshop; one of the most popular editing software’s around today.
The image of the amp in the bottom right hand corner is representative of DJ’s, musicians and anyone interesting in the rock music vibe. The colours in this image also link in with the overall house style of the music magazine which appeals to rockers and young adults (the black and red are stereotypically related to the rock music genre)

*DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD*
I chose to use a male artist for my Double Page spread article because it is stereotypical for the indie/ rock genre. By adding the instruments on two of the images it highlights the indie side of the genre because it is so typically gig-like, this is also backed up with the professional stage lights which help create a relaxing indie feel.
The teenaged singer-songwriter used in this article represents the teens, students and young adults of the audience because this type of artist is easily relatable to those of that social group.
