HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

Through my research I found that it was mostly females that were featured in the magazines, I decided that I would also use this for my magazine. By using a female to feature in my magazine it meant that my target audience of females would be able to personally relate to the artist.

SHOT TYPES

My front cover image was a close up eye line shot. This created a direct mode of address with the audience. This meant that my target audience of late teens to mid twenties can relate and have a connection to the featured artist.

Most of the Images that I used for my magazine were medium close ups. I used several images of the featured artist to establish the importance they have to the magazine.

The image on my double page spread conforms to the images in the music magazines that I researched. I have used a medium close up and I placed it on the left page with the text on the right. This means that the audience will see the image and then be drawn in and want to read the article.

IMAGES

The images that I have used in my magazine are mainly of young females that are In the same age range as my target audience. This is good as it makes it easy for the audience to relate to them. The direct address forms a personal relationship making them interested and want to read the magazine.

The model I have used in plainly dressed in black which creates a sophisticated look which also reflects my target audience.

IDEOLOGY

Overall my product allowed the audience to relate with the featured artist. Having the ability to do this caused the audience to create personal relationships, and would maintain a fan base for the artist. I was able to create this through the positioning of my shot types and direct mode of address.
