GenreThe song that we selected was Hold on me by Cadence Kid, the genre of this song is Indie Pop/ Dream pop/ Pop. Indie pop is a subgenre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom in the mid-1980s. Dream pop is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that developed in the 1980s. The style is typified by a preoccupation with atmosphere and texture as much as melody. Bothe of these genres are closely linked to lyrics involving teenage troubles and coming of age songs. In addition Dream pop and Pop utilise bright and bold colours in their music videos and public image.
