Music Video:Before creating my music video I had to analyse previous music videos that I took inspiration from. The 1975’s “Robbers” was my main source of inspiration for music video. Robbers has a narrative to it and shows the story and progression of a young couple who are in a gang. I wanted to tell the story of young couple who were in love and the complications of the relationship- Carl breaks up the relationship for another girl. Robbers was a source of inspiration for me and showed me how to use more than just close up or long shot of a couple to make the video more effective and not boring as such. Another video I looked at was “Amnesia” by 5 Seconds of Summer as it includes flashbacks. I wanted to include these in my video as I wanted to show past times of the couple and their memories together. They were often shown in slow motion which I wanted to feature in my music video as I felt that they would be effective and would add to the thought of time passing since they shared the moment together. This also helped to structure my video so not all shot lengths and effects were the same throughout my whole video.

Digipak:Before creating my digipak I looked at others that I thought would be beneficial for me to analyse and ones that were similar to what I wanted to make. The 1975’s album cover was a big part of my inspiration for creating a logo that would be memorable for my band. I thought by creating a logo for my band that it would make them look more professional and like an actual band as most bands when they release their first album, they usually use their logo/ band art as the front cover so people know who they are and what to look for if they were to go into a shelf and look for their album. The other digipak I looked at was Florence and the Machine’s album “Lungs”. I decided to look at this digipak because it keeps to the same theme throughout the whole digipak and features a photo of the artist on the inside page, which is also what I wanted to do, however, I wanted to feature lyrics on the same page as well as the image itself. The digipak also featured the name of the band in the same font throughout, showing that they have a sort of logo, which as I mentioned previously, I wanted to carry out.

Poster:Before creating my poster, I looked at three different posters in order to get an idea of what I wanted to include on my own poster. I looked at Arctic Monkey’s AM poster, Kasabian’s album poster and Bring Me The Horizon’s album Sempiternal. I chose these posters because they follow the same theme as the digipaks I have analysed, they are simplistic. All posters show conventions of the typical indie/rock genre.
